  1. What the.. How does that happen?
  2. I'll stick to 2 of each ram then. Hopefully the barbs will be okay, if not they can go in another tank got plenty of pregnant guppies so they'll be good for live food
  3. I have livebearers in all my other tanks so wanting to go for something a bit different Good point about adding the cichlids! Wish List is now looking like this: 3 Blue Rams 3 Golden Rams 10 Cherry Barbs 20 Cardinal Tetra 2 L140 6 Sterbai Cories Still awhile off stocking yet so getting very impatient, but I want to have it planted first and do everything right :nilly:
  4. Very true! I'm going to leave it for now. Hopefully it won't overrun my tank though
  5. For anyone who's interested: Plumatella bryozoa Bryozoa. Light micrograph of Plumatella repens bryozoa. Plumatella is a freshwater colonial organism. Colonies are composed of individual zooids that secrete a mineralised shell, the zooecium, into which it can retract. Each zooid has a lophophore, a crown of tentacles lined with cilia, that are used to trap food particles from the water. Magnification: x16 when printed at 10 centimetres wide. (From: http://www.sciencephoto.com/media/132740/view)
  6. Yes! That looks like it could be it! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bryzoa :happy2: I wonder if they help with Bio filtration. I'll do some research :smln:
  7. It has roots so it's definately a plant of some kind. But its got little bauble type bits on top I've tried scrubbing it off but it just came back within a couple of days. If no one knows what it is I think I'll leave it and see what it grows in to for curiosity's sake :smln:
  8. I've been looking on google for the last hour and can't find anything similar :nilly: Has anyone had this before? It almost looks like snail eggs, but I dont have any snails
  9. Haha cute huh! She's a nosy one! Always comes to the front when anyone's near, just sits there blinking at you :gigl:
  10. Driftwood was from animates. I'm not too bothered by it but I don't want it to harm my fish. It's very solid, I tried scrapping a bit off but there are roots deep into the cracks :dunno:
  11. I still wanna get as much colour as I can into the tank since I'm only allowed the one downstairs  I'll probably end up with a school of cardinals instead of the neons, that way I have blue and red, how many could I have without overstocking?
  12. Maybe 2 golden rams if I can fit them too :spop:
  13. Still hoping not to have the neons, I'd like to get something a bit special Just worried about over stocking. At the moment I'm thinking 2 L140, 6 Sterbais, 2 Blue rams, 10 cherry barbs, and a school of neons or something. Is that too much for a 165L?
  14. Gravel is in and buying the heater, background, air pump and bubble wall tomorrow! I'm now thinking I'll bump the bolivian cichlids and add a small school of cheery barbs after falling in love with Neons last night. Will see how it goes
  15. Hi everyone Over the last couple of weeks I've noticed a strange fungus thing growing in the cracks of my driftwood. I've had this piece since the begining of the year and I've never seen anything like it Any idea what it is? And should I be concerned and try to get rid of it (how?)? Or is it fine to leave it? I expected my BN's to eat it but from what I've seen they stay clean of it. Thanks, Georgia EDIT: A picture may help! (sorry for the reflection, was the only way it would focus)
  16. I love pig dogs too  I work at the SPCA and just wanna take all of them home!!
  17. Dogs are my biggest love! Fish will always come second haha Here's my little boy
  18. I had a great time  Won't be at the next one as I'm having surgery but will definately try to make the following one :happy2:
  19. wow !drool: I hope my tank looks as cool as that when I plant it
  20. Poor scale babies! :tears: People can be so greedy!
  21. Well I couldn't just say fur babies on a fish forum
  22. Do you have one of those bouncy chairs? That could tire her out before bedtime. Or going for a drive in the car with her? If not I'm at a loss; I'm an expert at raising newborn puppys, but humans not so much :nilly:
  23. A friend of mine had a similar problem with her little boy and her doctor suggested that she doesnt let baby nap during the day. Worked like a charm and he ended up sleeping through the night for the most part (just woke up for a feeding/diaper change). I hope this helps!
