  1. Best eaten straight from the sea (raw), dipped back in salt water or malt vinegar
  2. Open source has little to do with it, an open(ish) market place and installing apps from random sites does. Any computing device, be it an iPhone, android or windows PC, will suffer from melware if you run apps from untrusted sources. Me, I would buy the samsung galaxy because of the fact I can run OSS on it.
  3. That is my thought, but it is still rude to have a hold on a CC for a RMA. Have done a few RMAs on harddisks, normally they send the new one then you have 30 days to send in the old one.
  4. I see that now, and wow what a pond
  5. Might help if you used the tag correctly
  6. Apple, just works... meh It is a bit steep to ask for a hold for a RMA
  7. Was having a looksee on TM and found "Used active carbons in mesh", interesting. Had a look at their other listings and man alive some people try to flog some junk... Handmade breading/fry cage - old 3l juice bottle by the looks Second hand 320 GB IDE HDD - more expensive than I can get a new 1 GB SATA drive  to them
  8. Now that you have the img tags working you just need the real URL of the image: http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz312/rarara123/bully.jpg
  9. Deformed, I thought we had that answered already.
  10. There are some OK places around Pirongia that aren't DOC land, and there are plenty of others to have a poke around in. Any of the streams off the mountain will have bullies/inanga/koura etc in them and some have torrent fish and a few have kokopu. The site on DOC land is part of the nature walk at Mangakara, and is a nice walk in and of it's own, I think there are even glowworms there. I believe that the streams out towards Waingaro are better for kokopu and they are supposed to have redfinned bullies as well.
  11. I'd be keen for a gander if I'm around. Not sure about streams around hamilton, but most should hold bullies, inanga and a few kokopu. If you wanted to head towards pirongia I can show you some shortjawed kokopu on DOC land (so no taking), and there are smelt/inanga/bullies a plenty.
  12. Sad that you dont have any kokopu of your own atm, just have to live vicariously. When are you making mine? :digH:
  13. He didn't eat them straight away, I didn't see who ate them in the end but the two koura would have cleaned them up if noone else ate them. I think he did have a good go though, you can see he/she is quite fat in the pic in the other thread
  14. Better video than my cell phone creates Looks good, what is the food
  15. An update on how Mr Homer the giant kokopu is doing with a part tail. The tail is growing well as is the fish in general. He started out maybe 10mm shorter than the largest inanga and in the last 40 odd days has out grown them by about 10mm or more. As of Tue Oct 25, 2011: As of Sun Dec 4, 2011: Edit: I see that the pattern is developing and starting to break up a little, really looks more like a giant kokopu now
  16. Went out last night to the localish stream to see what I could see, and to get a few young smelt and or inanga to fill the gap in the mid to upper water column in the 4 ft tank. First walked down to where it empties in to the Waipa and spotted some very large carp, maybe 2 ft long and a large jack brown in the slow backwater. Found some smelt and captured only 4, man these guys can move fast. Walked up stream again to see what else I could see and sitting in the tail of the first pool I spotted a large torrent fish, and after a failed attempt to net it managed to capture a good 150mm torrie. Man they can grow large. Spent a bit more time searching around in the tail of a few holes and caught a few baby torries as well. Most went back, as did the big one, but kept a couple. Man small torrent fish are so cute. Brought them all home and placed in their respective tanks to acclimatise. Then within 5 min of the smelt being released into the big tank two were dead, thanks to Mr giant kokopu who took a fancy to the new live food
  17. 10 x the amplitude, the energy is about 32 x for each whole step in the Richter scale :smln:
  18. Have you got the under gravel filter to the front? I would have thought the silicon on the other side would be tidier?
  19. I was thinking of inline type pump/filter because I could do with the extra flow in the tank
  20. 7:c Use the drained water from the 90 L tank to start to fill the 245L tank, then use tap water and water conditioner

    Powercut

:dunno: Take the media out and place in a shallow container, deep enough to cover it all though, and cover with tank water. This should allow the bacteria to breath. :dunno:
