  1. Does that mean that a fully planted Hi-Tech CO2 system would gain carbon credits?
  2. I have seen that written often but have never seen a source for this, is it really true that once all the pores are full it will dump the bound toxins/organics back out?
  3. I would think that bullies would still be fine, remember that a banded could go well past 200mm. I must get some for my tank as my dozen or so inanga will start to pass on this year as they are all now well into there second year
  4. They tell you how to stop the blackout page from loading SOPA and PIPA will affect all users of the internet, well anyone that uses websites that are hosted in the US, and that is lots and lots, even many .co.nz sites
  5. have a solenoid and vent the DIY CO2 to the atmosphere?
  6. That could be any of the synthitic rubbers or PVC, we made compounds that were used as door/water seals The most common plasticizers were DIDP, DOP (DEHP) and DINP that I used. Most PVCs contain heat stabilizers, often lead or other heavy metals I would add carbon
  7. Dont know about the fish either, but when moving the media keep the container open, or with a large head of air, so the the bacteria can breath
  8. There are plenty around atm, I hope you find some
  9. All of that, pluss probably the most important thing would be how well designed the venturi is
  10. I also note that he looks to be breaking the copyright on the banner image on the site :digH:
  11. Neat that the tank has got some 'inmates' now. I hope that they get along well with each other. Be prepared not to see them for weeks, my two never come out if the lights are on, except the biggest one - he will come charging out sometimes when I feed FD krill. 12. I too have worked in PVC, no not that kind of work... Not many of the aditives didn't have warnings on them like: There wont be just oils that leech either , there are a lot of things that can go into rubberised PVC Sorry to hear about the lost fish.
  13. Hi stella, love that little weta pic, so cute. The avatar is labled as "Galaxias maculatus (Inanga)" on the Te Papa page and "Night Trout, Galaxias Paro(sp)-Punctatus" on the image. Galaxias Punctatus, Günther 1866, is acepted now as Galaxias maculatus, Jenyns 1842, but I too thought it was a Spotted Galaxias. I would so love one of them in my tank, they look so neat. http://collections.tepapa.govt.nz/ObjectDetails.aspx?oid=1204850

That's because it (the lifter) is patented :digH: If you get foam from a non fish supplier make sure that it has no mold inhibitors or fire retardents
