  1. damn! that's pricey. mind you, cost me $145 all up for my tool ticket. but i would have happily paid $1000 to see tool. mate if it hasn't sold by then, i'll have to see how finances are looking after i pay the bills on thursday.
  2. keen as... but how much you want for the ticket?
  3. ha! i was wondering what happened to my twisted val! and to think i blamed it on the baby texas cichlids that were in there. i will stop using excel and see if val recovers. ambulia and sword have flourished since adding the diy co2, seems to be having a good effect on growth compared to when i was just using excel.
  4. even i don't really know how to identify them bro. i have zero experience with puffers, i only know what i have learned online as i have been reading up on care and diet etc for quite some time now. it's a tricky fish to keep, well, definitely more tricky than any other fish i've ever kept! still... so keen...
  5. re reading this. its amusing how lost i get sometimes. at least my hearts in the right place. right? hmm... anyway. now i have finally worked it all out in my fuzzy little brain, my question to the gurus is: is there any point in continuing to dose flourish excel now that i have set up co2 in the tank? i mean. is there fertilizer stuff in there as well as being a co2 substitute? tank is: swords, ambulia, twisted val, hairgrass, zealandia, stargrass, angel fish, khulis, gobys, with flourite/sand, yeast co2, t5s, 28c, 120l, ph7, a0 n0 n0 etc etc
  6. hollywood have them in stock currently. my main concern is whether or not they are in fact tetraodon fluviatilis and not another species of green puffer that gets passed off as tetraodon fluviatilis. has anybody here had experience keeping this fish? in brackish, fresh or sw setup? chur
  7. a 6 foot tank the same size from greg (best tank maker in auckland) it will cost you around 400 i don't know how much it would cost to get my 6 foot tank repaired. but if you want it, it's yours. i got a 4 foot tank the other day for $1

  9. i got a free 6 foot if you wanna get the crack and bracing repaired...
  10. dammit i've tried a few times to sign up to reefkeepers but it won't let me.
  11. when i did school c math in 5th form the first question on the math test had a diagram of a telephone keypad and asked "what does 0800TELECOM translate to in phone numbers?"
  12. only suggestion is the obvious, another water change... clown loaches are funny. one of mine used to play dead so often and for so long that i'd actually think it was dead. go to take it out of the tank and it would sprite up straight away. weird ass fish.
  13. looking forward to seeing pics of henward swimming with his aro
  14. yeah could be that too... i said "apparently" because its just what i've heard about why they are in round tanks. the water always moves around in circles taking the jellys with it so they are always moving about.
  15. algae eaters get quite big so not recommended for such a small tank. you might be able to get away with a borneo sucker. there is another thread on them at the moment. check it out here: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=63105&p=681521&hilit=suckers#p681521
  16. massey - with saltwater jellys, they are usually kept in round tanks, with no corners, because apparently the jellyfish can get stuck in the corners of the tank and can't swim backwards to get out. have you seen any of your jellys get stuck in corners or anything?
  17. good point... might be worth a try. what method would be best to catch these guys. netting by hand i guess? im sure they are very hard to see from the surface. maybe a trap like stella uses with really fine mesh...
  18. apparently there are some in lake pupuke, but its quite overrun with weeds atm
  19. what the... is that for real? seems like an april fools thing to me...?
  20. im keen to go to lake pupuke soon and have a look. i live within walking distance. but, the last time i was there, the weeds were just out of control, much of it rotting above the waterline... couple weeks ago i was there, and there was bugger all access to any water that wasn't chocka with weeds... i usually have no trouble netting gambusia there from the waters edge but. now those weeds have overtaken!
  21. sure it tastes like chicken but what does it smell like??
