sometimes africans eat plants, sometimes they don't. you can have africans with plants and have no worries at all, until one day they just randomly decide to start eating the plants. i can only speculate as to why. maybe they are already well fed with a good balance of proteins and vege matter that they don't need to eat the plants. vege type green stuff is an important part of most african cichlids diet. maybe you just have well entertained fish. bored fish get into the green stuff...

yep i've seen it done quite a bit. never done it myself, never used a sump. but have seen them planted out to aid with filtration/water clarity, and seen them used for raising small fish.

where'd you get the gel stuff from? i've been looking for something like this. the ant stuff works well, where they take it back to the nest. was hoping there'd be something like it for roaches

be careful using snail poison on products like that, because your loaches might eat poisoned snails

that's a good idea bro.. bugger the trumpet snails in my tank are just as big as the gobys and khulis. i just squish them with my fingers and let the fish clean it up.

what's with fox and cancelling good shows? they cancelled family guy after a couple of seasons.. then reinstated it after millions of people complained. now family guy has just finished season 11 and still one of their highest rated tv shows. obviously fox are not very in tune with their viewers...

can't give you a time frame on the TFB's. i quite like them. they are around 10cm now and in that old tank with the rusty frame i bought off you couple years back (great tank btw). they are growing fast as so probably looking to rehome them once they get 15cm or so. that's an awesome story about your pacu! ate a heater!! bahahah! i also have 30+cm L001 plec if you want it now...
