  1. That is some nicely sanded wood you have there! surprised to see you still have that much of the stump left with that flock of nice big royals. Very nice looking tank and fish.
  2. Just pick a preferred store here: (I assume it's the 32bit version you are after?) http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=485456 I have bought from PC online before with no problems
  3. What I meant with different series of XP is that you can have two seemingly identical cd's of Win XP Pro SP2 but they might be from different "batches" so to speak that one serial number may not work with both cd's. I have tried this myself. You can buy a Win 7 OEM Dvd for around $130. I recommend you do that if you think you still have some life left in that computer. And yes I know oem licenses are "to be installed on a new computer only" but since you have bought a new hard drive the oem is justified so you are not breaking any rules.
  4. +1 to what the others have said, if I were you I would go on pricespy and get the cheapest win 7 premium you can find. Also lending an XP CD from someone might not work with your serial number as there are many different "series" of XP cd's where only certain serial numbers will work with certain CD's. Good luck!
  5. I've collected water at both Muriwai and Piha before... good water even when conditions are rough but man what a mission to carry buckets to the car.
  6. You wouldn't need more that a 200W heater on a tank that size unless you have the tank in a very very cold room. The Eheim 2213 would be absolutely perfect for your tank. A bit on the large size but that's a good thing. Just be careful not to create too much flow in the way you install the inlet. 2nd hand one for sale here: http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=67029
  7. Under the consumer guaranties act if a device malfunctions in a way that is unexpected (eg. not from wear and tear) the store must replace the device and any damage it caused because it malfunctioned. eg. dead fish. I believe the store can then get reimbursed by the supplier and in the end manufacturer but not sure about this part.
  8. That happened to me too except it was not discus and it was a Juwel heater. Water was 41 degree and miraculously my gold spot pleco was still alive! Shop where I bought heater replaced heater with an Eheim and gave store credit for the value of the fish.
  9. Try it out here: http://www.aqadvisor.com/
  10. Don't count on it.. Convicts are world champs in raising young even in a crowded tank. It's really up to you if you want to try breeding them... nothing wrong with leaving them in the tank and young gets eaten but if you do want to raise them then yes best to separate them and raise them in another tank.
  11. 1 cm sand then a layer of cheap tiles and the rocks/more sand.
  12. Yes I was implying that you can have more than 3 (and I didn't say that there was anything wrong with having the 3) In my opinion you could easily have 10-12 smaller fish in a 15L tank with adequate filtration which I assume the blue planet tank has. You could also add 3-5 more tetras and a bristlenose catfish to help keep any algae at bay. I agree that smaller schooling fish prefer to be in a group of their own species but if you prefer different ones then that is no problem but you will probably not see them schooling together very often.
  13. You only have 3 tetras in a 50L tank? What sort of filtration do you have?
  14. Could be breeding stars. Google it
  15. :sml1: He's wearing a helmet!
  16. I think you are in denial.. better get used to it. :slfg:
  17. There is the kind they stock in fish shops (for fish purposes) that has quite large squares and is also quite expensive. Then there is the "Egg Crate" that people usually talk about on the american/international forums which is a smaller square screen that is normally used as light diffusors in a suspended ceiling grid normally seen in offices. The ceiling type egg crate is dirt cheap in america and therefore used for all sorts of purposes. Not that easy to come by here because it is a bit old fashion but ceiling suppliers such as Forman still stock it.
  18. If you can find someone who installs suspended office ceilings then I think that will be your best chance.
  19. If you insulate your tank with polystyrene on back and sides you can use only one 300w no worries and save some energy too. Win win
  20. Certainly a shame for our hobby that it is so difficult/expensive to bring in new stock.
  21. Hehe well for me it was a free "sample" because I work in an architect firm. Not sure what they charge but I think you would have to buy a standard ceiling tile dimension which is 1200x600mm.
  22. My post was not specific to Hamilton. I'm in auckland and I got it here.
  23. I got some from "Forman Interiors". They supply interior wall systems and ceilings etc. They still stock it even though it is not used much as ceiling light diffusors anymore.
