  2. I assume both the fish display and the auction are open to the public. Can someone confirm this please?

We just have arguments on a small scale instead
  5. Neither did Marlborough but I think it was sent to an old address and not Napier's fault. Not only did we change secretary but the new secretary then moved house! We don't need more info though I don't think as Bruce emailed us the basics. If there is any other stuff being sent, please send it to me, 8a Faulkland Dr. Blenheim

    BACKGROUNDS

Welcome Steve and thanks for the praise. Rob's idea of painting polystyrene and putting it behind the tank is a good one. One of our members used a thick sheet of polystyrene which she hollowed out caves and niches using a hot wire. She then siliconed gravel to it (a slow, laborious process) and put it inside the tank. It looked fantastic! A lot of work though and the finished sheet was very heavy. Do you have any photos of your stand?
  8. Well, you learn something every day! I have never ever looked at my daphnia and thought "Gee they look like darleks"! I will now though ... he he Exterminate! Exterminate!

    I'm back....

Newcastle...hmmm...is this the Aussie Newcastle mentioned in the old song "Don't you ever let a chance go by"? A funny song about fellas in their FJ Holdens (or some sort of Holdens) cruisin' the main street of Newcastle on a Friday night looking for sheilas and getting into trouble in general.

I have seen them priced from $11.95 to 15.95 and I thought the latter was dear enough!

$30 for bristlenoses!!!!!!!!!! Were they gold plated? I have a goldmine in my tank as I have 7 or so babies here. I might bring them to the auction if they are big enough by then. I don't think they travel well when they are very small.
  12. Warren is our CO2 fan and has studied the whole thing in depth. If you have a question re CO2 he is your man.

As we have the toughest importation regs in the world I would say our importers have even more restrictions than yours. The small market doesn't help either.

    I'm back....

Welcome back Joey. You can't be too addicted if rugby league was considered more important! Can't comment on the Warriors as I don't follow rugby, or rugby league - or whatever it is they play. Where are the Knights based?

But do you have any money left?
  16. Hi Bowhunter and welcome to the other side of the world. You don't have to put a subject heading if you don't want to but when you have typed your post you must submit it before clicking back to another forum or topic or it gets lost (as you found out).
  17. Daphnia is another live food - it's free and fish love it. I have a couple of old baths outside filled with water. The daphnia grow in there by themselves (windblown I assume) along with mosquito larvae and other stuff. I always work on the principle 'if it wiggles, feed it to the fish'. Daphina love green water and if you add them to the container they will clear the green up very quickly. Others also feed their daphnia dried blood or yeast but I have never bothered giving them anything. I merely fill the container from the tap and then leave it.

    Howdy!!

Everyone here knows my first name is Caryl but when I went to register on an eziboard site, it said Caryl was already being used (and here I thought I was unique!) so I just added the NZ for New Zealand on the end. I figured that not only would everyone then know my name, but they would also know where I came from.

Unfortunately Chris there is a big difference between what we can import and what they will import!

Hi Kluyu! Glad you came to visit. You should all check out the site where I met Kluyu.. http://communitytank.aaquaria.com/boards/index.php They are a nice friendly lot and I was made welcome there. There are some interesting topics too. Their board works the same as ours so I found it easy to navigate. Again, welcome Kluyu and I hope we are able to help you if you have a problem.

  22. Rather you than me Warren! What about the suggested format for conference? Duties of host club at conference? Duties of FNZAS at conference?
  23. They didn't offer me a ticket either Bill, I have to pay my own way . It will be worth it though! We hope the FNZAS 2004 conference will be in Vanuatu. I am saving $$ and dieting in anticipation!
  24. Why are you blaming the fish for leaving the bucket? Sounds like they may have left it involuntarily
  25. Just you wait until I send you a postcard from Vanuatu Bill! PS. You know where you can stick your doggy bag
