    Green water....

Wish you had told me Kellz I could have dropped some daphnia off on my way through Wgtn! I took several containers of them to the auction in Napier. PM me with your address and I will courier some to you.
  2. Good to hear you got home safely Goldie. Did you only see three marked police, two mufti and one speed camera, or were you caught by any of them?? Enjoy your cuppa.

    Hello

Good to meet you too Cat. I don't have to be a 6ft tall Goth chick with 20 piercings - I only act like one!
  4. Well, we have arrived home after a GREAT weekend in Napier. Well done to the Hawkes Bay club for organising it. It was good to meet Fishroom members. I counted quite a few of them... me, Wink, Goldie, Cat, Ira, Warren, Busyboy, Andrew, Bruce, Julie, Janey (& mum Lyn), Mitch, Alan & Heather. There may have been more. Around 300 members of the public came to see the display too. There were over 100 display tanks with quite a range of fishes - not to mention axolotls, eels, whitebait (free range, not pattied), turtles, crayfish, mussels, frogs, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens & ducklings. More than 60 were at the auction with 114 lots (and many of them were multiple bags of the same plant, or fish. Winning bidder could chose how many bags he wanted and leftovers were re-auctioned. $1790 changed hands. We all had a great time and visited the Napier Aquarium (awesome place) did some shopping (some more than others) visited Hastings and went to Animalz petshop where they had some beautiful discus ($250 was a bit much for us though). We went home via Palmerston North and visited Andrew and admired his killies and carniverous plants then wandered around drooling over the beautiful tanks in Wet Pets. Wellington saw us visiting Dominique (Kapi-Mana) before driving back on the ferry (nice and calm crossing) for the trip home. We are all very tired but happy campers.
  5. You haven't seen Warren's lounge have you? You could only file one at a time past the tank and that would be a squeeze!

    Hello

No piercings anywhere actually. If we were meant to wear such things we would have been born with holes in the required places. I can't even stand the sight of pierced ears!

    Fluval 3 Plus

Yes, my 404 burps and farts for ages after it has been cleaned out (a bit like me  ). It settles down eventually though. It is also hard to get the top on and off but they are the only complaints I have with it. Warren told me to use a little vaseline around the edge of the top and the bit where the hoses lift off and that helped a lot.

    Hello

You will recognise me Cat as I look just like my avatar! (minus the cloud, halo and wings of course)

    Hello

A volunteer for club treasurer Andrew! Grab them quick!!!!!!! Introduce yourself at Napier Cat. Perhaps, during the pot luck tea, we can ask all those belonging to the Fishroom to raise their hands and we could meet each other.

Most stuff should have a 12 month warranty. Ask if someone at the shop can show you how it is supposed to be set up as I am surprised you have had 3 in a row with a similar problem and I have not heard of anyone else having the same trouble. I still wonder if it is not being set up correctly. The shop should be keen to see a happy customer and be helping find out what the problem actually is. Join one of your local clubs. They are full of members all ready to help. One may be willing to visit your home and have a look.

    Hello

Look under the General section for FNZAS Clubs then see the thread called Labour Weekend in Napier. All the details you need are in there. The auction is for club members only so you had better join the PN group fast! Andrew Broome (in this forum) is the contact for the PN club.
  12. I know how big it is but can't visualise the concept. I will see it at the weekend, all going well. How is it being moved Warren? Along with good floor support I hope everyone has good back support too!
  13. Are you sure it's going to be big enough? Someone should have stood beside it to help show the size.

I run a Fluval 404 here and it certainly sucks so did the 403 I had before it. Are you sure you have everything connected correctly and the right way around? It should be pulling water through at a good volume.
  15. Where are you oranda? I have daphnia but have no idea if you are even in NZ. My goldfish never liked worms and I have had others say the same. Lots of good quality foods and warmer water should do the trick. Are you sure it is a female? I gather it is hard to tell with goldfish.
  16. Camera batteries are all charged up Warren. See you soon.
  17. The scanner is ready and waiting and I can even print you extra copies on it on my new colour laser!
  18. Get him to photograph it then bring the camera with you next week. I am sure you can finish off the film in Napier! We could get it developed then scan it here before you go home again.

    Hi ya'll

Hi y'all Momad! Glad you worked out how the fishroom works. Glad you could join us.
  20. Hi Momad, glad to see you here!
  21. We will be too late on Friday I think Janey as we are on the midday lynx. We also have children with us so will just have a quiet early night.
  22. What is YMMV Andrew? On the few occasions I have used salt it has been non iodised table salt.

    Hello

Welcome Cat, What's housework? Fish are far more interesting. Good to hear you are planning to join the PN club. Hope to see you here often
  24. Take a photo for Cees Goldie or he will be cross with you! I have never seen Vallisneria flowering so would like to see it too. If you haven't a digital camera, send the photo to me and I will scan it. BTW: I got my colour laser printer today!! YIPEEEEE!!!!
  25. You will certainly enjoy that Andrew. Have fun! And don't spend all your money - Christmas is coming!!!
