  1. I vac as close to the plants as I can without disturbing them then hold the vac over top of them as low as possible to get surface gunge out.
  2. I believe the bacteria in the filter is not affected by Erythromycin. I never noticed any problems when I used it.
  3. No he won't cos TT isn't affiliated to the FNZAS yet
  4. Wilson I print approx 300 of them. It takes several hours to prepare them for posting Dixon have a look at the sticky at the top of the FNZAS clubs thread. It is called "Subscribe to the Aquarium World" and has all the information you need. I must check as I believe Jane is about to move house again (if she has not already done so).

    Sick Oscar

    What are you feeding it?
  6. 100 have been folded and stapled so we're getting there.
  7. That reminds me I have pics of a danio with dropsy...
  8. No, it's the stuff IN the water that makes it taste weird

    Mango plec

they sound tasty 8) Are they round and orange?
  10. The name derives from its curved shape in coronal sections of the brain, which resembles a seahorse (Greek: hippos = horse, kampi = curve).
  11. Am halfway through printing this issue. Hopefully Grant will have time to fold and staple them over the weekend (he has a better wrist action than me and can crease them more firmly ) A few things to find in it - information on... Mealworms Celestial pearl danios Chocolate lyretail killifish Basic starter information for setting up a marine tank Diamnond tetras Hydra Building BIG ponds (bigger than mine even! Heavens to Murgatroid) National Fish Show results and photos Aerobic V anaerobic and LOTS more. Hopefully out next week. Grant worked 67 hours last week for Downers (plus many more hours on his own company stuff) and has done 43 so far this week - and has just headed to Nelson so will be late home. He says he will have time to do the magazines for me over the weekend so fingers crossed.
  12. So what's wrong with writing an Aquarium World article??? (nobody loves me, everybody hates me...)
  13. Yes I do know where the new club is - it is on the site of the old RSA Corner of Alfred and Hutcheson Sts, on the banks of the Taylor River, that runs through the middle of town.
  14. Shaun I discovered Jack Reacher only recently and have now read all the books except the latest which I have been saving. Am about to start reading it (had to re-read all my JD Robbs first as her latest just came out too). I love theReacher series. My favourite was Die Trying. How can anyone say they don't have time to read books? I always have one on the go, or one lined up to start or I get withdrawl symptoms.

    Fatality

If he got ill overnight the filter would have sucked it in, rather than him getting in by himself. Doesn't take much.
  16. Yeah, it will toughen them up  Come visit me or call while you are here.
  17. I leave my fish a week to 10 days with no food at times and it doesn't harm them. You may find a bit less algae in the tank on your return and some fish very happy to see you
  18. Stop adding chemicals and let the tank cope on its own (with the water changes of course)
  19. Why did you take them out of the other tank? Don't feed them for the 6 days you are away. That will help keep levels down.
  20. She wasn't being bad, she was doing what comes naturally.
  21. We get quite a few local cats drinking out of it but have yet to see one aiming for, or taking any notice of, the fish.
  22. Clown loaches are very susceptible to white spot and react badly to the meds for it. Need to use half dosage I believe. They can jump out of the tank but if they died they may also have been eaten. Check the water quality
  23. I am always a believer of leaving meds etc out of the tank if you can help it. If behaviour is otherwise normal I would leave it but keep an eye on it.
  24. Ah thanks Jn. They only went in last year and have produced more leaves this year but still small and brown. I wondered.
