  1. We had friends in Picton who heated their large swimming pool using black hose coiled up and down the garage roof that was right beside the pool. Worked very well.
  2. Poly on sides and back really makes a difference! (Top too if you can manage since heat rises. Not everyone's hood and lighting allows this option though.)
  3. Do remember most spiders do not attack you or bite unless you hurt them first. Nice spider Livingart!
  4. I have 2 older brothers. As a teen I would not be seen dead with any of my brothers' friends! Mind you, by the time I was seriously interested in boys (I was a late starter) my brothers had left home
  5. Forgot to say they have all sorts of stuff (all healthy and tasty) http://www.annies.co.nz/
  6. Here is another pic just for you then MarkLB  and an extra salsa dip
  7. Sunday 28th March, 2 pm at our place, 8a Faulkland Drive, Blenheim. For those who all think AGM means All Go Missing, do not fear. Our AGM's last about 5 minutes then we have the fun stuff. With a bit of luck this will involve food 8) All members, and prospective members (or just anyone passing through) welcome :bounce:
  8. I was recently photographing items at the multicultural event held here. One of the acts was Annie and Johnnie doing their salsa routine. They are very good! Annie is a well known local and she and her husband Graeme own Annies, (a company that makes 100% pure fruit bars and other healthy stuff) and she runs very popular salsa classes. Johnnie is Brazilian and helps with the lessons. I managed to get them in mid swing and no, he didn't drop her! Looks like a magician's levitating act doesn't it?
  9. Jellyfish. Very common. If they were multi coloured they would be jellybeans
  10. Is it un PC of me to laugh at maoripho3nix telling us to have fun with the natives? :-?

Organism is on the corner of Clyde and Ilam Rds. Redwood Aquatics are 21 Hussey Rd, opposite Willowbank Wildlife Centre so follow the Willowbank signs out by the airport. Bubble N Squeak are 250 Stanmore Rd Petworld are on the corner of Ferry Rd (475 I think) and Smith St. If you are into ponds and water gardens then The Water Garden is 297 Blenheim Rd Feather N Fur are opposite Dressmart by The Hub (what they call the Hornby Mall) There are Animates in Papanui Rd, Moorhouse Ave and at The Tower Junction
  12. We were thinking if we could work out the real reason for the deaths then you may not have to rehouse the fish while you fixed the problem. I breed fish outside in a 6ft round pool from The Warehouse (the ones with the rigid sides, not the blow up ones)
  13. Humans eat corn fed chickens and other animals and many say they taste better. I think the fish would enjoy them.
  14. I am not sure if "congratulations" is the word I should use :-?
  15. If this pond has been up and running for several years are the fish only dying recently or have they always done so? I too have seen concrete ponds with fish living happily in the high pH as a result of no sealant. Goldfish are very tolerant of a very wide range of pH and a high one is not usually enough to cause death. I wonder if you have another problem, not leaching.
  16. I believe the BGK will hunt after lights out and can eat quite large fish but have never kept one so perhaps someone with experience can confirm this
  17. Goes to show how well this forum works
