  1. Well based on opinions so far people will either love it, think it is too light, or think it is too dark
  2. The extra width (front to back) means you can do a lot more with the aquascaping and get a much deeper look. I do not want monster fish in my 6ft (I don't like big fish and hate seeing them in aquariums). I want torpedo barbs and perhaps congo tetras to start, with some hoplos in the bottom.
  3. Get a particular flower eg. rose from the local park. Same with a particular weed or a bit of rubbish (like a used McD box or KFC bag) What does it say on the plaque on a specific monument or foundation stone somewhere
  4. I suggest you read the Rare & Unusual Fish section to see what others have.
  5. For me it isn't the cost - it is having the space to put it! I am hoping to get a 6ft soon but that is as big as I can go
  6. I always go for the darkest substrate as the fish colour up more.
  7. 1: How do i know if it is rotting or not? Should be pretty obvious shouldn't it? Yes, it will feel soft when you push a fingernail or sharp object into it and bits will break off easily. 2: The salt, I will soak it for a couple of days, that should be alright shouldn't it? Fine but no need to soak it. It does not absorb salt so much as have little bits stuck in the nooks and crannies. I hose them off and give them a scrub with a nail brush, using an old toothbrush, if necessary, to get into tight spaces. 3: It was sitting on, And probably used to grow in clay. Will this affect it at all? Not if you scrub and rinse it well
  8. I thought that was a dog
  9. I think it is naturally hairless. My sister in law had a really ugly cat with a small, triangular shaped face and wavy fur that looked like crinkle cut chips.
  10. He's called Jacques isn't he Matt?
  11. We played Ludo and Pass the Pigs too! I side with your mum Rob, I get competitive in Ludo too  No point in playing if you don't play to win. This stupid "It's not whether you win or lose but how you play the game" is stupid. Games are meant to be competitive and it is more fun to win after doing your best against others doing their best as well. Hopscotch, elastics and skipping were popular outdoor games when I was a young lass. And the ball game Sevens (played solo). We were allowed to play Bullrush in those days too
  12. I had to look that one up as I had not heard of them. Nice looking cats but wouldn't have one here as it would be too hot in summer I think. Also, it says they are excellent hunters so I would not want it decimating the bird population either. Got a pic of yours to show us?
  13. You reckon we need the bus to stop at your cafe then and we all have a turn at baking our masterpiece there?
  14. We can all bring our baked goods with us Easier for those of us driving than the ones flying in though
  15. Thanks for the replies. I have an article about them and wanted to add feeding requirements.
  16. Hint taken. My avatar is self explanatory (and descriptive)
  17. My daughter worked for a family in the US and she said they had 24 different cereals in their pantry! None of them healthy ones - all laden with sugar. The pie competition idea for conference isn't silly either
  18. I just get a white page also and have been to the site before :-? Perhaps they are broken?
  19. Perhaps you need to bring back some cans of pumpkin.
  20. Would they be small enough?
  21. How do you feed the anemones? I have been told they are difficult to keep in an aquarium because they feed on zooplankton
  22. Yes and they are a dark green and really round, whereas the grey ones tend to be flatter on top and bottom.
  23. Did your lunch enjoy the walk?
  24. The amount of difference driftwood will make to the pH depends on what else is in the tank with it.
