  1. LOL Adrienne and cichlidcentral, unfortuanatly my son is more into his birdies, he wants to get himself a couple of finches I am quite happy with not getting a pond anymore, I am going to get some nice fishies from "santa" so its all good
  2. Thanks Bilbo, I am making my hubby a nice cup of hot milo as we speak LOL, start buttering him up
  3. :bounce: I know what I want for Christmas now Dear Santa I would like 3 glass catfish, 12 Harlequins and 6 Ottos
  4. dreams thanks for the heads up about acclimatising them Skippy my three cherrie barbs are very tame and friendly, they used to be a bit nippy when I had the school of six, but only to a longfin zebra danio. Now they don't even school anymore, I don't want to get more of them, will just let these three die off. Not so fond of them, I love peaceful fishies. My harlequins are super great tankmates. I was just worried about terrority with bn's and chocolate zebras. They are peacefully living together now, so do Otto's not have bottom terrority or do they swim about a lot? Thanks both of you for your advice
  5. Will they be compatable with my tank, I read that they can be bought either single or preferabbly 3 since they do like to socialize. How many would you suggest and How much do they cost? Thanks for being up this time of night
  6. I was reading all the new posts as I usually do just before bedtime and this little guys name came up. When I don't know a fish I always google image it, I quite liked the look of it and then googled it and found that its a cute little fishy, that does not get bigger than 5cm or some species even 2.5cm. Is it true? Do I have the right fishy here. If so please let me know if it will be compatable with my tank and how many I should get, cause they are super cute. I currently have 4 bristlenoses, 2 adults and 2 juveniles. 2 chocolate zebras, 3 cherriebarbs (3 died) 5 Harlequins and 3 biggish glass catfish. I was hoping to get 12 more Harlequins and 3 more glass catfish in the future as well. I have a blue planet vista tank as stated in my siggy
  7. That is not good, I saw it too and hoped that kids won't go for that deal (well parents fall for it and buy it for their kids) On another hand I am quite upset that the Blueplanet Vista is so cheap, grrrr I paid much more for it last year But hey thats just me, some other people should really go and buy it, its a very nice tank to have. I love my tank
  8. I have shared your link to all my facebook friends too. Lets hope all of them will share it too and it will move around as fast as some of these stupid copy and paste status games does
  9. He is 11 now, trying to convince me he is allready a teen, but I put my foot down and said when he is 14 so still a while to go
  10. Its too far to go and visit my beloved plecs. I would like to just sit and stare at the tank as well, we would have to install a webcam of some sorts, its just too complicated, but thanks for the offer
  11. Hahaha its actually bigger, its a three door garage, there is another single garage at the end. Unfortuanatly my son has dibs on that for a sleep out once he is a teenager.
  12. Hahahaha he really loves me. He would have bought me a zebra pleco but then he would have had to buy a whole new tank, cause everybody said my tank was not compatable with such an expensive fish. We live in a small 2 bedroom "bach" (spelling might be wrong) so my biggest problem is a space for the tank, my Vista is standing where the previous owners piano stood. The only free spot in the house Photo's of our "bach", also our first house Very small but cosy, Huge yard, quarter acre so more than enough space for a pond
  13. LOL you guys all have me in stitches here laughing at all your comments. Must show hubby how you guys calculated that a nice 8 foot tank would work out cheaper in the end. A fish shed sounds realy nice too, gosh I wish I could have a fish room and then put on some scuba gear and have a swim with my fish I just love the aquarium hobby so much. I guess I will put my thinking cap on for something else for Christmas now
  14. I thought that much One day I will have a huge tank full of all kinds of pleco's I just know it Guess I will have to think of another Christmas pressy now Yip it would take a lot of heaters or one super duper one that will just drain all the power from Aucks
  15. Well hubby was on me about what I want for Christmas. And I only want one thing and its a big pleco, since he won't get a bigger tank I suggested an outside pond. Do you get nice big pleco's for coldwater, I think I read that one of the common plecs can adjust to cold water. I live in Beachlands so it gets cold but not very cold like it used to in Taupo. What would I need in size if I wanted a plec. I had a look through the cold water forums and only found stuff on goldfish. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
  16. Ooooh If I was you, lots of pleco's. I just love plecos and would love any and every type of pleco in there
  17. I have two of the mortein ones in my house, but that said, not one of them are near my actual fishtank. they all spray towards the other direction. And to add my fishtank has a lid that completely closes the tank, no gaps. Had no fattilities and have used it for two years now if not longer
  18. Mine is my initials and surname. Its something I would remember so I used it, If I had a second choice I would love to change it to fishaholic On most sims sites I am known as simaholic, so fishaholic would be perfect for here

  20. Happy birthday Zev, hope you had a super fantabulous day 8) We share the same month for our birthday, Mine was on Thursday the 7th
  21. Thanks alanmin, I feel much better now. Stella I think you might be right, it was a big mess while scrubbing and I really scubbed very hard. I will keep an eye on it and just keep scrubbing everytime it gets like that, strange things seem to happen in my tank these days LOL
  22. I scrubbed the living daylights out of it and its busy boiling now. I added a little bit of the tonic salt as well. There did come a lot of wood off it while scrubbing, so it might have been that the crust was peeling. Lets hope so, I have two very angry choccies swimming around looking for their hidey holes LOL.
  23. That is what I thought Ira and Sam, so its not that breaking down then, Aw well, I bought some scrubbing brushes and now I will take them out and scrub then under running water and see what happens. Might just give them a good old boil afterwards as well
