  1. Hi, I was wondering if someone could explain the reason to me that there is no hamsters in New Zealand. I just find it facinating as they are the most popular pet in most countries
  2. Thank you so very much for all your help too He is very happy back and still hiding by the heaters, silly boy/girl. But I have the heater guards now, so no stripy little burn victims LOL
  3. I have noticed that too, but like Ira said I think its just the rubber thing on all of them. When I had all those bristlenose babies in the tank, they would all group together around the rubbers of the heaters and suck them clean
  4. BikBok I buy the Aqua One heaters, have not had any problems with them yet, I also suggest a 100 watt one. I had my hexagon which was 60 litres, and in summer it was fine, but winter I had to upgrade to the 100 watt
  5. Thank you I only recently got it as members here suggested it, very happy I took their advice
  6. Gosh lots of interesting desktops. My desktop icons contains alot of sims 3, but its just because I love the sims. I use to create custom content for sims 2, might start doing it again for sims 3, still enjoying my freetime though
  7. I just changed my desktop to a photo I took minutes ago of my chocolate zebra and then thought I wonder what other fish lovers desktops look like. So I thought we could share our desktops by posting them on here. I just did a print screen of my desktop and uploaded it to photobucket. So here goes
  8. I followed your advice about making my own caves, bought the rocks from Hollywoods, also two more pieces of bogwood, so that they are spread all over the tank Here is a pic so you can see, please excuse the dirty tank, its due for a water change tomorrow as well as filter maintanance Here is also a pic of the little guy back in the main tank, he/she is so happy to be back, been exploring none stop
  9. awww just look at them, they are so cute Phoenix. Yes ours are more chocolate and caramel coloured
  10. aww BikBok your little guy is just so cute, I wanna cuddle him LOL We seriously need a little smiley with hearts around its head to show love
  11. This is what he looks like today, It looks much better than at first. He is also more active. I am saying he, although I am not sure if its a he or she Only today and tomorrow left with the furan 2 :bounce:
  12. Thanks Bikbok and Phoenix. Just did the second dose after the first 25% waterchange, he was much more lively, which made me so happy, lets just see, only two more days to go :bounce:
  13. This is what it says on the box....add first dose, 1 packet to 38 litres, repeat dose after 24 hours, wait another 24 hours then change 25%water. Repeat the treatment for a second time for a total of 4 doses, make a final waterchange of 25%, treatment may be repeated if necessary.
  14. When does a person stop the treatment, since its an antibiotic does a person complete the whole course, the packet just says repeat if neccessary, will the wounds completely heal then I stop
  15. I just did the 25% waterchange and added more furan2. His/Her little wounds ar looking much better, but he/she is still very sluggish at reacting to me in the tank. He/she also looks a bit bloated. Hubby wanted me to stop adding medicine, said it might be making the little choccie sick. I also added a little airstone to make more oxygen, please advice me what to do. I added the medicine, as that is what it demanded, please advice me what to do next. :-?
  16. My little guy/girl is still with us, looking a bit bloated, but otherwise moving every now and then. Tomorrow its the 25% waterchange and more medicine. Hope he/she fights the good fight and get stronger and healthier
  17. I bought two heater guards and they are now in place, a good thing too, cause the other little chocolate zebra is hiding behind the heater in the main tank too  I have the burn/wound little chocolate zebra in quarantine with a heater guard as well. He has been given his first dose of furan2 and is not looking to bad, hopefully he will pull through and make it, only time will tell I have upped both tanks temperatures to 26 degrees, my tanks usually ran on 24 degrees, but one of the guys at hollywoods suggested I up it a bit to 26. I also bought lots of nice stones to make more caves, will do that tomorrow after my weekly waterchange. I also bought two smaller bogwoods as well, so there won't be unneccesarry (sp) fights about the bogwood. Hopefully all of the above will work. BikBok I will buy some salt if the furan2 does not work, will give that a go first. How is your precious little one doing now?
  18. I play Farmtown, level 100 and I play Petsociety am the highest level there too
  19. Ok, then I will treat my little guy/girl with the furan2, once he is all good I will put him back into the tank. I will also make more caves and hopefully when he is better and can fend for himself again there will be less fighting because of more caves. I am so new at this and its pretty scary. Looking after my cat is much easier, but I enjoy the fish more and wish it was just a little easier
  20. Thanks Phoenix44. Could you please tell me what to do next. I have him in quarantine now, cause its not looking good as you can see on the photo. Should I still get the furan2? What type of salt does a person add, and how much? Sorry about all the questions, I just want to do it right, I feel so bad for burning the little guy with the pimafix
  21. I will get some heater guards for my quarantine and my main tank, I will also buy more caves, how should I treat his wound then, should I still get the furan 2. They do fight a lot, but I never thought it could be so nasty. I am confused now. What do you suggest I do?
  22. In the main tank I have two chocolate zebra's and two bristlenoses. Its my bigger chocolate zebra that have the burns, the other one I checked as I chased the hurt one around and that one is smaller in size and had no burns or markings on him/her at all.
  23. Thanks so much Jennifer, you have been very helpful and understanding
  24. He is in quarantine now, phew what a relieve, only thing I worry now, is that I stressed him. I battled to catch him by myself, usually my hubby helps out, but he is working nightshift :-?
