Shhhhh about my leaves, they are growing quite well in the fishy bacterial water :happy2: edited to add...by the way, bought those leaves from Hollywoods fishfarm in Albany, and they have it in one of their fishtanks too, that is where I got the idea

So perhaps you can leave it at a slight angle so he can discover the hole himself. Well said, I came to that conclusion too, the lovebirds wants to have an illegal little love hole so let it be :love: Josh they both seems to like this little hole so maybe you can buy one too, I bought mine from Hollywoods

Well he won !! :facepalm: I put the whole ornament and him back in the tank, his breeding partner was looking for him, I could see her looking around for him, did not want her dying of a broken heart so the two are together again and guess where they are hanging out :nilly: Yip you got it, inside the illegal holes in the ornament :roll:

The holes are moulding holes at the bottom of an ornament, I want him out so I can seal it up, I will buy him a holey type ornament that is designed for him to hide in. I feel uncomfortable with his diggin under the gravel to go in and out

Goodness they can go without water for long I held him out of water for about three minutes then thought to myself its too long I am gonna kill him :facepalm: perhaps I will try a bit longer now once he sticks his tail out again, its scary stuff, never gonna buy ornaments with holes again, even if the holes are right at the bottom of it :-? edited to add question Will he ever hold on till he dies, or will he eventually let go so he can get to the water?

Gosh he just does not wanna move :facepalm: How long can they go without water, I held the ornament out for a while hoping he would plop back to the water because he knows he needs it, but he just made me super nervous and I put the ornament back into the water :-?

I tried that, he just stays put, he knows I won't let him out of the water for too long I used a airstone directly under the hole, that made him wiggle out for a little, but as soon as he realises what I am up to ...in he goes :facepalm:

I was doing my big tank clean up and picked up this rock formation thingy I have. What I did not know is that my male bristlenose have dug right under it and climbed into those little holes in the bottom to show the moulding. As I lifted it out and the water gushed out I heard this little squeek sound and on further investigation I saw him in there. I have the whole rock in my quarantine tank and hope he will get out soon. I will have to use silicone and cover the holes up, not a good hiding place that. I never thought he would dig under it. Hopefully he will come out, saw his tail sticking out earlier But I never knew they made sounds. He did it again when I lifted the rock out to the quarantine tank

Hahaha I just love watching them, when I saw them doing that I was just amazed and a little worried, you see I had one dead glass catfish when I came back from our roadtrip so now my head is spinning on whether it could have all three been males and now that they are mature they are fighting for some reason, just a little concerned thought someone could shed light on it for me. Perhaps put me at ease by saying, don't worry mine do it too, they are just playing :happy2:

Guess you guys are just as dumbstruck about it as me, no idea why they are doing this, They are still doing it, hope they are ok :dunno:

I gave our local Animates over 80 of mine for free to get rid of them. Saw them selling them afterwards for 13 dollars each :nilly: next time I do that, I will ask for food or something in exchange. It was my first lot ever, so I was still a bit silly in the way I rehoused them

You can get some for two dollars each if you are willing to wait a couple of months, mine just had fry (brown bristlenose) edited too add two pics SamH you might be interested to know that the two bigger bristlenoses on the pumpkin is the two little juveniles I got from you in exchange for the guppies

I don't know what exactly they are doing, but my two glass catfish are swimming very upright, meaning their tails straight down and their heads straight up and they swim right next to each other and every now and then they start head butting each other, I hope they won't hurt each other, why would they be fighting, they have been living together peacefully for a year now :facepalm:

Thanks Phoenix and Josh, I am super thrilled :happy2: unfortuanatly I am not a paying member. I could become one, I had babies before with my other male and this female there were more than 80 I was suprised with the amount of babies, no idea how many now, since I don't want to disturb them now :love: just read the rules and it would not count anyways cause I am not a member at the time that they become free swimming
