I've lost 6 otos in the last few months to unknown causes. They clean up my tanks and get all fat and then a few weeks later they look droopy and die. The first 2 I had originally were alive for over a year and they were happy as larry.

Veal and goat are on sale regularly, if not every week at Mt Roskill Aussie Butcher. I enjoy both. You can also get goat pieces with bone in for curry at many indian butchers such as Food For Less. They must have recently had a calf cull somewhere as there has been a lot of frozen veal for $4.99 per kg making it impossible for me to resist. I'd like to try rabbit, but only ones I hadn't seen with fur on first :tears:

I would like to make 2 comments about your new video: 1) How do your fish speak for themselves? Is this a new trait that poret foam brings out in them? 2) I missed the music :spop:

2 ppm as in green on the colour scale? I'd be very surprised to see that, do a water change to ease your mind and then take a sample to the shop for testing again. My ammonia test kit says to shake it vigorously, I think it's an API, though it says Mars Fishcare on it.

the stuff that matters is the bit in the sandwich between the glass though, stuff that is sitting on the tank wall comes off quite easily when it ceases to be new.

:rotf: I will take some pics. I am inclined not to take pics in the garage, it's not a pretty set up. When I do I'll update my breeding experiment thread.

New breeding experiment started today... my long awaited cherry barbs. Got 5 - 2 males and 3 females. 2 of the females are already quite chubby. I've put them in the spare breeding tank with a divider, boys on one side, girls on the other. They are already feeding so I've given them some mosquitoes and daphnia. The snails will be moving out of this tank tomorrow so no chance of them eating any eggs.
