  1. At the risk of sounding like a couple of plonkers, we have been given a crayfish for dinner tonight, and we were wondering are you supposed to kill it before you cook it? or do you just plonk it in? Our biggest pot is not going to fit it all in I don't think. Any suggestions? Thanks Siran

  6. Quiet this Christmas, think I have Christmas eve and Christmas day off, working all the way through. Don't get holidays until Feb. Not spending much , but hopefully my inheritance will turn up just after and we'll have a spend up then. Merry Xmas everyone
  7. I'm not very good at searching google, but here are the regions they come from. Rio mamore Rio Guarpore/ Trinadad Guarpore basin/ San Ramone Igarope river/ Guarjara-mirim Sorry I couldn't be of more help
  8. I'm sure we can work it out so everyone can show off their tanks , we'll just see how much interest we get, and then work a date out between us all, It wouldn't be the same without yah Aaron Thanx OEF, I'm afraid it won't be the telly getting fixed, .....if you know what I mean
  9. we've been a bit bummed out that there's no Northland fish club, and unfortunately we lack the time/expertise/experience and social skills to be able to set one up, but we were wondering if any fellow whangarains might be interested in a tank crawl of some sort, We really don't know what you do, other than ogle other peoples tanks, so if anyone's interested and has any tips or ideas just post them here, if not let this post die a silent death

    Hi all.

howdy dude and welcome, pity you didn't register a few months ago, you could've entered your 380 in our small tank comp.
  11. Like this? We did this after we introduced a GAE to the tank who belonged to a red tail black, he was relentless and wouldn't leave the GAE alone. But after a few days after we put in the rock caves they settled down, now they sit side by side quite happily. There's prolly a dozen or more little caves.
  12. Hiya We have a 3 ft tank with a leopard pleco, red tail black and chinese algae eater. We are adding two gold angels and two kribensis, we are also getting two yoyo loaches. We were thinking of adding two convicts but after research found that they would have been too aggressive. What else could we add instead of the convicts? Would a pair of rams be okay? Thanks Siran
  13. just caught a dragon fly, how do I euthanize it quickly without damaging it? fly spray, or would that cause it to break down?....jeeeezzzz, thank god I'm not an insect.....
  14. Could somebody please help me identify this plant, I have lost my piece of paper with my plant names on it and I cannot find it online. Thanks Siran
  15. it has a fully covered in lid, my guess is moisture may be a problem, as you say we may have to DIY a mesh lid. We just got some tad poles from the dam for the kids to watch turn into frogs and as we had a spare 380 we thought they might make a nice feature in the lounge. I caught a golden bell a few weeks ago when Stella came over but it didn't have anywhere as much gold on it as yours do
  16. nice frogs mate, do you think a AR380 is Ok for a couple golden bells?
  17. cool, there's heaps of weird looking bugs up here, I'll let you know when i have some.
