  1. you can only access fencepost if you have a fonterra account, and even then it's very limited, and they're very strict when it comes starting new threads. And I'm hoping if it's successful that it may make my CV look even better
  2. Was thinking of starting a Dairy farming type forums along the same lines as this site, for support and discussion for NZ dairy Farmers. I personally have no clue how to start, but Siran is good on the PC and is a quick learner. So far we've found out you can either get web space of your own (we've discovered we get about 10MB of free web space from xtra already, we're fairly certain that's not even close to enough) or use a remotely hosted forums service. We were hoping people could give us some pointers, is it better to buy our own space? how do we go about it?, or perhaps it would save a lot of hassle to just use a remote service? any ideas on where to go? Is it a very expensive project?? Thanks for any help or Ideas
  3.  Got 80 odd tonnes coming today too, nice timing....
  4. My father kept tropicals on and off when I was wee, and one of the few times I went back for a visit when I was 21 or so he had a large octagonal tank in the lounge which I found inspiring. Years later a good friend of mine was selling a large gold fish set up, which I purchased , made a stand for and converted into a tropical tank, unfortunately I only had it a year or so when I began moving around a bit so had to sell, I always intended to get back into it when my life became stable again.
  5. this is the bottle end, have the same thing on the bottom of the internal filter
  6. We bought a plastic nipple from lps, drilled a hole into the bottom of the filter and glued it in. we can plug our co2 hose in, or not if we just want a filter again, looks tidy and neat.
  7. we run our co2 through a small internal and we find it disperses the bubbles really well, we cut the sponge in half and added some noodles. Added bonus is you can hear when the co2 runs out if you're paying attention
  8. I'm neither a believer or not, never seen one but that means nothing in it's self.....but.....In my Mother in laws house, where my wife grew up, they have several ghosts. One who they call the geranium lady who they've only seen once or twice but she always bought a strong smell of geraniums with her. There are no Geraniums around the house but every now and then the smell of geraniums is suddenly over powering, and they all say G'day to her, now here's the really spooky bit, we live miles away from there yet after both our sons were born we suddenly smelt the overwhelming scent of geraniums on and off for a few weeks after, almost as if she was popping in for a look see. BELIEVE IT, OR NOT.....
  9. Is it the lake just out of Masterton? forget the name
  10. 2 of our aqua ones have condensation, and both our Jagers don't
  11. you start down sizing your furniture so "just one more tank" will fit or saying, "the couch will be OK under the deck!"
  12. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: A few months old but absolutely brilliant :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:  http://www.metro.co.uk/weird/748129-tee ... -fulfilled
  13. Hiya Is it possible to do an option where you put in a species and then click a button that would suggest suitable tankmates? Siran
  14. **EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!** "Runs away squealing like a girl"
  15. Assuming the media hype is correct( lets face it I wouldn't be surprised if they were way off the mark) I struggle to see how you can have a sexual incident with a 2 yr old by *accident* drunk or not.
  16. Cheers Barrie, have posted a question on his face book page
  17. You're more than welcome Smidey, but it's right on the rd side, literally, not sure what the rules are concerning firearms next to a main road. Thanx LA, I thought about the stringy tassle/plastic bag Idea, but as you say, Pukes are pretty sharp, they'd figger it out pretty quick would be my guess. Though your air cannon idea might be a goer, i'll have to look into it. We've got plenty of swamp around but the with smell of sweet silage around they can't help themselves. i have loads of ducks as well but I don't mind them so much as they don't make a mess.
  18. Lo all, was cleaning up my silage pit today and got to thinking about how much was wasted this year due to the swamp hens jumping up on top and pecking holes into the stack. It really makes a mess cause it allows the air in and of course the water and the top of the stack just goes manky , makes the cows poo and can make them slip. I thought about putting another layer of old pvc over the tires but I was talking to another farmer about it and he said the rats move in and nest in there instead. I thought about netting over the tires instead but I know the boss won't spend any money for that. So I was wondering if you guys had any ideas, bearing in mind the stack is right on the road side and I need to be fairly PC about it, Cheers guys.
  19. but tastes like chickeeeeen
