  1. Exactley as i said :dunno: As i own both fish this is not a simple inspection, while parancistrus attains a length around 9-10 inch mark oligancistrus sp L30 only gets to 4-5" so an adult alot sooner thus the identification between the 2 fish even easier.
  2. Nope the aussie peppermint is an ancistrus much like that of the starlight here in nz.
  3. They are not the same fish by any means, oligancistrus L30 is characterized by its large eye's something very different to all Parancistrus not to mention P. Nudiventris. The gill openings on Parancistrus are massive best seen from the ventral side, oligancistrus quite standard. The width of the head is large and compressed like that of zonancistrus a rather flat fish as opposed to L30 with a steep forehead yet slim hypancistrus like build.
  4. First fish is Oligancistrus sp. L30 the following 2 are P. Nudiventris.
  5. I dont understand the misleading part, is acara not a cichlid? Have you access to the wholsale list? do you know what fish are named on there? are you sure HFF havent already corrected some name's (scarlet pleco??? L137 cochliodon more like). Almost cant be bothered
  6. Sweet setup mate, that sand fits right in

  8. Is it having trouble removing it itself or not trying? is getting UVB?
  9. Good to see a descent goldfish setup
  10. It was a direct to fishie123 as what has been done is not what was directed. And ill think you'll find Simon to have been directing to the fact that i said the same thing as Ethan. Feel free to come over if you would like Firenzenz, if you would like to talk more, just make sure to ask before you take beer from my fridge
  11. OK,,,,, The level of aggression will have been minimal in such adolescent fish unless under fed which clearly is not the case. I doubt oxygen depletion unless the outlets to the canisters where quite low or ammonia or nitrite where present, even then this should have been noticed in the plec's if not all of your fish. I feed prawn on a regular basis to my herbivorous plec's never have i a had a problem and never have i heard of such an easily digested protein being an issue. Seems weird even though i do feel this is either water quality or a dietary issue that the l260 being heavily carnivorous is effected l200 omnivorous easily handling this type of protein, and l177 that i personally feed quite alot of protein too in the form of both prawn and sinking carnivore. Temperature will be fine between 26-32 so i don't understand the accusation of this being high in regard to these plec's. I would like to know the water parameters before passing any judgment. Are there any other fish in the tank?. Sorry: Missed the update
  12. Sounds good huh, keep the plecs happy

    Shipping fish

Your lfs should have all the things you need.
  16. I have a 250 liter with 11 Plecs 10 clown Rasbora and 8-10 large Danio the tank always! has veggies in it along with nightly excessive feedings of disks etc, iv never gotten a nitrate reading of it. The tank has numerous stem plants the require pruning every week. Yep, but it will lift your TDS which may be adverse depending on the fish you intend to breed.
  17. Nothing kill's the Rabbit (sorry) Myxomatosis or calicivirus you'll need a vet to confirm.
