i think its terracotta, its in the garden secton of warehouse. its a pot with either a parrot or a knome attached to it. i thought it would look really nice as a main piece in a tank.
thanks, i will look closer at it when im in there next
from what ive read u have ur lights under the lid (ofcourse) what are they attached to? id like to make my own lid but how do i set up lights in it? i want normal lights for plants and a spot light one one place for the bbs feeds.
any ideas?

what is the best type of sand to use builders or silica?? thanks
it has gravel adn i want to give it something to burrow into. thanks heaps
its about 25-30cm long and about as fat as a ladies ring finger at the most. what could i keep with it? its in a almost 2 foot tank. been byself for 10 years apart from once when another eel went in with it. thanks.
i wasnt going full the iceblock up with food, just a bit so that if they are hungry when they have no other food then they can eat what is coming off the iceblock and they are bettas, and hungry all the time LOL .
i hadnt thought about doing ti with decap shrimp. would they be okay if they only got feed once a day? at the moment my babies are getting fed twice a day with shrimp coz the shrimp live for ages and they eat them till they are gone adn once with decap. i feed them about 2 hours before lights out. my adults get shrimp twice a day and a sprinkle of decap.
would they be okay if i freeze some shrimp and get the person to feed them a bit of that in the morning and with some decap. i wouldnt want them going hungry. i could be away up to 5 days.
i am planning to go away for a few days later in the year. im getting someone to feed my fish but am thinking about making an icecube for each of them with bloodworms and shrimp in it so that as it melts bits will come off for the fish to eat. i saw this done at orana park for the otters and at auckland zoo. wondered if the fish would like it.
anyone done this??
not eating pets mystic, same as eating chicken, pigs, sheep or beef. people raise then then eat them. same idea really.
mmmm crays how to breed them in captivity?!
fish is not cheap so just thought it might be an idea, esp if they BREED!
ive got a really good idea i plan to get some thick Polystyrene and carve it up with mountains and valleys and paint it etc and silicon it to the bottom of the tank adn cover parts with different types of sand/gravel. and make up some walls and attach plants to it, so they are growing up in caves etc.
once i get it sorted i will post some pics. prob put java fern in the caves. can anyone suggest another plant that attaches it self really well??
