i have a 22l tank i got a nice plant the other day my fish sit on the leaves. i dont know what the names are. i have some swords, they like them. ill get the names for you later this week. other should be able to give you names for them. i have small tiger lotus, they like sitting on them too.

i have three small swords, a fluffy plant (starts with a), three other plants with lots of small leaves and three other plants with big long leaves. the water looks better than when i had a filter! no filter now coz i turned it off coz my kuhli loach was trying to climb up it! and i came back one day to find 2 out of 3 of my female bettas stuck to it. they are fine, but they are happier with just plants. they happy. my kuhli loach comes out more now!

WOW they are cool, ive always loves puffers, never knew you could keep them in a tank. let alone get freshwater ones. can i keep one by itself? will it get lonely? what makes good tank mates that it WONT eat? where do i get a freshwater puffer and how much do they normally eat? you said to feed mussels? can i just get some from pak n save and feed them out? thanks heaps :bounce: :bounce:

thats great, thanks,im getting a larger tank and a couple more banded kuhli loaches, they are so cute! apart from bloodworms what else can i feed them??

he is totally lovely, what a pretty boy! i mean that nicely ofcourse. he looks awesome. how fast is he growing, the ones i saw are about 3-5cm from nose to tail.

thank you for that, i was going to put in some driftwood that would allow them to hide under, the wood would have plants on it too. my kuhli comes out to eat bloodworms most of the time. i have female bettas who i think its still getting used to. what else can i feed it?

what if i put a container in there with a decent layer of sand for my kuhli loaches and corys (that im planning on getting), will that be okay, they i can have plants in pots in the rest of it. then all my fish be happy! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: edited coz of overkill with :bounce: s

that is amazing. my LFS has three black with orange baby oscars and they are AWESome would love them. but dont they need a massive tank and i cant have more than one in a tank can i? please post pic of you friendly oscar. i think he likes his food a bit much to eat! :lol:

i use a sponge filter for my tanks, i have bettas who hate strong currents too. and i plant in pots. easier to clean.

there is LOTS of plants, they just in pots in the tank. im thinking of putting in a small piece of driftwood if i can fit it in! LOL the pots are big enough for him to get into it.

ive decided that i wanna go bare bottom with all my plants in pots tho. easy to clean. will my kuhli loach go nuts or will it make home in the pots full of gravel?

ill try and find a link tongiht or tomorrow. it looked kinda like hairgrass, but like it had hairs coming off the side. like it was furry! hard to explain. ill try to find the link.

ur quite knowledgable about plants pheonix, i saw a pic of a tank (cant find teh link) and there was a plant that im guessing was a type of grass, it looked like a cross between a long haired algae/moss thing and grass. can you help me with what it might have been, it looked awesome.

im getting the pots today or tomorrow. just gota get some nice white silica sand. reason i am planting in pots is coz i want to be able to move them round and if they are in the sand then ill be upsetting them if i want to rearrange or move to other tanks. i need to get some for my fry tank too. looking forward to getting a tank taht has partitions and all planted up for my boys -

little and dunno about sex. i just didnt want to leave my tank sitting there bare. i wanted something pretty adn was told that killies are nice.
