how tall does it get? its not gonna keep growing out of the water will it? i have a plant that has annoyed me, coz it grew out of the water and then ALONG the light! silly thing! ill have a look at the other thread later. where do i buy it?

average lights i think, just fishshop bought ones... something with roots for them to play in/eat etc. i dont want it to cover whole surface coz i have fighting fish who need the surface to breath. definitly want something to spawn with. thanks will look those up later.

hello i want a floating plant, whats a good one. i want to put it in my small tank, so nothing MASSIVE, would like a flowering one maybe. and would like one to put in my 2foot tank. any ideas?? thanks heaps

oh, i just bought a 100w heater for my larger tank coz the tank coz i tested temp and it was only 20degrees. they werent eating much. now its 27degrees adn they much happier, eating more. i need heaters for my tanks at the moment, until we can spare a room. gonna get a custom tank made up that is 1.5m long, 12inch high, and 10cm wide, gonna put it on the mantle piece above fireplace and have individual parts for showing off males. gonna get some black sand and glosso plants for my spawing tank. sounds good. thanks

i am looking forward to the babies. she isnt fully coloured herself yet, has red fins, but i think i saw some blue on her body. so should be good. where do i get "Green water" ? i have brine shrimp eggs to hatch, and blood worms, and just getting a microworm culture going, i have been told infursior (dont know spelling at all) is good too. but dont know how to make or get some. anyone help me out? thanks

IVE GOT eggs, just looked this morning and shes floating while hes collecting, he had squeezed her at least 5 times. and last time i saw 10 eggs, so we must have heaps and she still has a HUGE belly.

TWO DAYS into it and no eggs, she barred up and nice and round. hes alot larger than her, but i didnt think my smaller male could manage to squeeze her coz of her roundness. ill keep waiting. he let her eat too which was good

thanks, ive got two in a small tank at the moment, hoping they breed in next couple of days, but will get the other tank up and running with plants sand etc. at the moment all she has to hide behind is some java moss. hes not being too mean, just dancing for her. shes nice and round and barred up, so fingers crossed. ill use the large tank for the next spawn.

i have a lovely tank, i would love to breed my fish in it, but wondering if i can breed them in a planted tank with gravel or sand? can i breed them in a two foot tank, coz i would leave the fry in that to grow up, then i dont have to move them. thanks

ive been told to make my tank a bare bottom tank for breeding coz other wise the eggs get lost in the gravel. so how do i put plants in it? i have 5 females, one that is marbled up she is in with my lovely blue VT, he made a HUGE nest overnight, shes bared up, but still running away from him. im hoping something happens in next two days. other wise shes back with the rest of the girls. i have got a 22L tank where my blue VT male lives. can i put the 5 females in there with him to live?

what is the best food to feed newly hatched fry, i have a a pair in the process of breeding now. i have brine shrimp, microworms, blood worms. ive heard of green water is that better? thanks

my male is about twice to three times the size of my female. im worried she will not want to breed coz he is so much larger than she is. my fish eat heaps. but dont get bellies like that!

guessing some of those are females with the HUGE marble belly. so thats whats meant by marble, geez my girl has a ways to go then. need to feed her more. LOL. they look great.

sorry i thought that when they developed their colours and startted building nests they would be showing there true fins. and hes the same age as the rest (7) i got and they dont seem anywhere near as grown up as he is. thanks for clearing that up.

i have a male fighter, meant to be a Vt but doesnt have a flowing tail and is developing spikes (small ones, ) and when he flares up his fins all touch and look like they are joined up. my full size VTs fins dont do that when he flares.

how deep can you have water for female fighters, i have a tank that is 2 feet long byt 1 1/2 high, can i fill it up (with a cover ofcourse), coz i want to put tall plants in it. or do they need it shallow?

ive got a 2 foot tank that is going to be planted in dwarf sag with up to 7 (max if they all girls) female fighters. not sure what filter to use as my fighters hate currents. wasnt going to worry about a filter just do weekly changes, coz the plants should help it.
