my LFS is getting in some baby red spot plecos, im going to get one and a bristle nose. will they be okay together? my tank is a 2 foot long by 1 foot wide by 1 1/2 high. i currently have 7 betta females adn one kuhli loach. going to put in some corys and a few more kuhlis. could i have two red spot plecos in there? are all plecos compatiable as tank mates?

has anyone heard of Giant Bettas in NZ?

first spwan starting to colour up, lots of royal blues, some steel blues, some turquioise, even what looks like purple, red and hubby thinks he saw a yellow. parents were Dad blue adn mum red and blue. awesome. trying an experiment. took one out and put it in jar in hot water cupboard and feeding to see if it grows faster.

why not go to you LFS and ask them if they have a tank with partitions or if they can get one made up, you can get them made and have the partitions siliconed in to it and leave a TINY gap at the bottom for water flow and have the heater and filter in the middle "tank". im getting one of these for my males, i have 6 of them. if you have an idea in mind, ask ur local glass people how much to make a custom tank for you.

how does one get an imported fish? can i import one myself? how?

WHAT so i have been boiling my wood for the last 3 hours for NOTHING. AHHHHHH, do i just have to rinse it? i dont want to add salt to my freshwater, coz i have fighter fish.

do i need to boil them like i do drift wood? would they raise PH too much?

i got a whole bunch of the seeds too, not sure how to sprout them. going to get some silica sand for them i think.

not trying to hyjack ur thread...just got a question about tail types at my LFS there are some female bettas and a male VT, one of the females has a tail that looks kinda like a comb tail but it isnt spikey, its got ummm like square bits missing so instead of being rounded it goes round, then in towards the body in a square shape, then back out to the rounded part adn continues doing that pattern. is it a tail type or could i just have been attacked by the male during breeding. i wasnt sure about that coz my girls tails look a bit shredded, you can tell its bite marks, doesnt look uniform when my girls get bitten. thanks

you said yours play ball in the current. what sort of filter do you have? do they mind a strongish current? would they eat live goldfish? though i guess goldfish would not survive in brackish water.

how easy is it to maintain a brackish tank? do i need a sump etc like you do for a fullon marine tank? can i have plants with them? do i need "real" rocks or can i make rocks?

how do i make brackish water? the figure eights look so cool!

i got an 5 way adapter but having trouble making sure all of them get enough air. my fish seem happier without a filter, just hav an airstone. and they like that. kuhli loach is playing in the pots and plants.

i need sponge filters for my tanks and i cant have 15 airpumps.
