  1. hello betta breeders, when do the girls develop egg spots?
  2. i understand where you are coming from. but what about people who feed turtles goldfish or tadpoles, they are a food source, or people who feed bbs? im getting some feeder fish for my eel. if you have fish who love live food why not provide it.
  3. http://bettysplendens.com/articles/page ... cleid=1405 is one of the links i found for giant bettas
  4. ive got a few bettas now, crown tails and veil tails. your guy is lovely, mine looks just like him, but is cornflower blue. so cute. mine love brine shrimps, bloodworms, decaps shrimp, flake, and go mad when a sandfly or mozzie lands on the water, i had two girls play tug o war with a large mozzie. now just gotta work out how to breed them or where to get wingless fruit flies etc.....
  5. yes ive gotta send my form back to join the killies club. i feed my adult fish the shrimp too, they love them.
  6. im interested too. they look so cool really big.
  7. to breed them so i dont have to keep getting more eggs. and to give my larger fish a change. they are better for fry as newly hatched BBS but i read that the larger ones are good for the adult fish
  8. thanks, i got one question tho, do i need to have the water bubbling round like when im hatching the eggs, coz the eggs need continuous motion.?
  9. anyone else done this for their fish? i have two hatcheries going and all i was doing was adding more eggs every second day and fresh sea water. i had a really good look at one of them last night and i had newly hatched shrimps plus what looks like adults, nearly 1cm long. i havent emptied the bottle for a week. so i got a bout 50-100 of them out and into a freshbottle to see if they will breed. anyone else done this. apart from liquid fry for egg layers what else can i feed then?
  10. they are so cute. mine are being good glass cleaners.
  11. thanks guys. i saw pics of a normal one next to a giant. what a differnce!
  12. i saw a photo on the net that had a tank and three cumumbers or corgettes in there and there was about 20 odd plecos eating them. was pretty wicked pic. cant find the link tho! ill get a bigger tank when i have too or sell them on and get small ones again. they are happy on the wood they got.
  13. no i didnt know plecos fight, coz ive seen tanks with 20 plecos in there! my LFS has black kuhlis, i got the only banded one that was there in 6months. all i wanted to know was would redspots be okay with bristle noses and bettas. thanks., when my redspots get too big, ill get another tank. i had a pleco when i was younger in same size tank and had it for a year and it got to about 14cms long.
  14. i asked the guy who owns my LFS and he said my two red spots wont out grow my tank for a year or two. i would like to give my kuhli some friends but want banded kuhlis, coz thats what it is, i dont like the black ones. my red spots are about 5cm long. just babies! so CUTE!! i wanted to get all 5! i could have a whole tank full of plecos :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: there is HEAPS of room in my tank. i guess when my bettas grow they will be more visiable.
  15. i dont know i only found out recently there are lots of plecos! it was brown with gold/whiteish spots.
  16. i was only getting corys to clean the bottom of my tank. they not needed. thought maybe one flying fox to clean plants. i used to have a 10cm pleco in a simliar tank many moons ago.
  17. i dont NEED corys and my single kuhli is happy on his own. prob have to get a larger tank coz going to end up keeping a number of our baby bettas. r large red spots okay with little kuhlis and betta
  18. ive never had a pleco die on me and my last 2 bristle noses died! tiny babies tho. i think red spots are pretty. if i get two how long till they are too big for my tank?
  19. should i get one or two? red spots that is
  20. my tank is barebottomed with plants in pots, will the pleco eat my plants
  21. he comes out for the evening to see his food.
  22. id happily get it a larger tank! i love plecos, i would even love a tank FULL of them, all differnet types
