  1. Rays won't come in because their tails contain a toxin. MAF is anal about that stuff.
  2. Those are excellent pics!!! Great clarity! Good job on the breeding.
  3. I don't add any primer to my water at all. Comes straight for the tap/hose at ph 7, haven't seen any problems. I'm on the North Shore though where everything is better :cofn:
  4. 1st photo is a dovii, but what they are actually selling is a mature male salvini cichlid.
  5. Yeah I did make that connection
  6. Of course Henward - at your post title. Will have to drop by and check him out.
  7. GOD thats amazing! *got :smln:
  8. Henward would put his children on a massivore diet if he could.
  9. Lol. FEED IT! FEED IT! :happy2: Frog is an aquatic animal. Arowanas feed on them in the wild. Arowana are large enough to have a range of prey so long as the prey is in/close to the water system. It would be safe and easy to feed the tadpoles to your fish henward. Could be easier than exchanging them for fish?
  10. I would feed frogs to my fish if I was that way inclined, but tbh bugs and stuff achieve much the same result, plus I like frogs :dunno: Its not inhumane IMO, just the food chain, the manner of which they die is the only part in question, and if feeding them to a fish is under scrutiny then you might as well be complaining that nature is wrong. If he was cutting the legs off then letting them die before feeding sure, that would be inhumane (fish wont rip legs off, will swallow whole). I just wouldn't be bothered raising frogs to feed to fish, way too much effort for something so quick. I have had plenty of opportunities to feed skinks to my fish but I choose not to because I like them alive and a worm would achieve the same result. I don't think you run any risk of disease from a frog though, but if someone is more educated on frog disease transmission then listen to them.
  11. Haven't done either. Just haven't heard of them carrying a toxin. If there is doubt then I wouldn't risk it with the aro.
  12. Normal GB frogs here are not poisonous. You could feed to your aro no probs I think. In terms of disease, no idea.
  13. The pictus cats we get here get only to 15cm Henward, there are 2 others that can be imported but haven't come in. The biggest one that comes in is 30cm. But the commonly seen pictus only gets to 15cm. Make a good school.
  14. Settled in well. Sweet as will do, um no I don't have any spare media.
  15. Just an update of where my tank is at. Have been meaning to rearrange the setup, put dark gravel in, nice rocks and the like. Polypterus collection is how I have wanted it, 5 delhezis, 2 normal senegals and 1 albino, 2 palmas buttekoferi bichirs. Just bought most of henwards polys as he changes his stuff around, THANKS MAN! Flagtail, bala sharks, jurapari, Pink Tail chalceus and BGK are other inhabitants. Gonna add a couple of cichlids methinks. 2 delhezis are at a foot long, 1 is about 27/28cm, 2 are 22cm. Senegals are between 23-26cm. Palmas are just 15cm.
  16. Thank goodness. Was a tad tense.
  17. I wont be leaving my house if we lose, due to fear of death. It would be not a pretty sight if we lost.
  18. Odd. You would expect something else to show similar symptoms if water is the issue. Since CLs are often wild caught it could be a case of worms/internal issue?
  19. True Altums came in once at HFF. Years and years ago. Hard to breed and expensive. For your purposes henward, normal ones will sufice
  20. Once they get to a decent size I would definately be keen
