  1. You need to bring Rocket over to meet Cuddles, I'm interested to see how they would get on.
  2. I would not have refunded. Especially since it was healthy in your tank.
  3. I just bought my silica in bulk from swanson in west auckland. But I switched back to black grit.
  4. Something that has extensive root systems...swordplants are good. Chain swords would be ideal.
  5. Just make sure current is not directed downwards. Plants with good root systems would help stabilise the sediment.
  6. Bichirs! Always number one for interesting IMO. Pantadon butterfly, ctenopomas, mystus catfish/sun catfish, smaller variety of eel, pleco variants, elephantnose. Plenty to choose from although you may be restricted by the volume of the tank to how much stocking you would like. Bichirs would be fine so long as it's not an ornate. Ctenopomas are perfect, pantadons are fine, mystus cats only get to 15-20cm, sun cats potentially get too big, the smaller eel types reach 20-30cm (not fire eel/tyre track), plecos are all ok except for maybe really large sailfins, elephantnose get to 30cm.
  7. Turn off filtration while you do it and wait for it to settle, problem with silica is that it clogs the filter due to its fineness.
  8. What is a leopard catfish?
  9. I would dearly like some jags please
  10. I don't think they will give you an import ticket? No point in waiting for 'better' ones, listen to henward. Cos they will be gone before you know it, and I wouldn't bank on there being better ones.
  11. Great build; one of the best vivs I have seen on the net, great info and pictures of the transition. I bet you are thoroughly enjoying that in your home.
  12. Yeah you catch them at the prawn park near Taupo, then you are supposed to get them cooked for you but tbh I would prefer to chuck it in a tank.
  13. Looks mint, I'd love to do something like this. This provides good instructions. How have you installed the pump for the waterfall? How have concealed a filter? I assume you can access them somehow?
  14. Yeah I was intrigued by that auction, looks cooler IMO. I was under the impression that once it turns terrestrial it is an unwanted organism? Retarded concept seeing as they are legal in their aquatic form :dunno:
  15. That's what she said. Sorry, had to be done
  16. I wonder if they are migratory? They aren't true eels so maybe not. What so 74cm isn't quite a monster Snookie?
  17. Thai silk strain is the goal. The female of henwards is a good starting point, the male less so. It will take some cross breeding of fry to get the pure blue colour.
