  1. Get bichirs! They will eat them! Especially a large ornate  My favourite feeding experience was getting an earthworm and chucking it in, my 2 albinos (ex-sold them) grabbed 1 end each and then tandem swam around the tank hitting all the sides until it ripped. Sounds a bit gruesome but it was hilarious.
  2. ^^ YES!! I would like to visit the BMW facility!
  3. I like that look on an arowana Henward ^^ hope yours turns out like that.
  4. Damn, she was a looker when I saw her last. Maybe get some good new ones out of the batch of fry?
  5. Glad I got to see my old oscar develop. Took me a little while to find one without much red. You were right about the camo look its awesome, looks like 'wilder' to me lol
  6. 400L would be extremely cramped, minimum 6ft long by at least 2ft wide I would say for a large adult. But you could get away with the 400L for little while, more as a grow out tank rather than permanent residence. Hope this helps. Good filter needed too as they produce a heavy bioload.
  7. Get it onto prawn or shrimp rather than bloodworms for better growth. DavidR pretty much summed it up for you though.
  8. Always lol. Btw henward, was gonna ask if you could take the other 3 for a bit? I need to move the ornate around cos its being a $%$$% to others. Can you help out?
  9. Im disappointed in the quality of stripes on the dels coming in; I prefer good stripes, unfortunately none of mine have any although my previous ones had excellent patterns. gutted I lost those.
  10. Good man; realised his collection was flawed without polypterii :smln:
  11. parachromis friedrichsthalii Its on the list. I hadn't noticed it before if it was already there. Already knew Managuenisis was on there.
  12. New species of jaguar added!! KEEN
  13. Not on the list. not coming in.
  14. Oh yeah. Which paper is 206? 1st year is average since heaps of them are core papers but the next couple of years the options really open up.
  15. + me too. At Auckland doing ecology as well :slfg: I am first year though, but I prefer the marine/freshwater and behaviour side rather than evolution.
  16. Sexing done by analysis of the mouth cavity I believe. Males supposedly have a larger bulge so that they can carry the young. < What I have read.
  17. Sweet as. Cheers guys, good info.
  18. In case a solution somehow makes it into the tank I would rather it not be a toxin.
  19. I was wondering what the best way to clean the watermarks and residue on the front of the glass off? What do you use and do you use a solution? Fish safe?
  20. I love this tank style, was going to do something similar for my bichirs... good work, it looks very nice.
  21. meh, all of those options work well in tanks so long as they are big enough 8) Extra HUGE tank for the tigerfish though - no way, its teeth are awesome, would dominate an aro for sho
  22. Give me a ray/gar/african tigerfish any day over an aro though lol, prefer the more predatory/eccentric fishes. Arowana have nice colour though.
  23. If it happened overnight I would bet its the CK. I did not have that problem when I had mine with my bichirs but they are agressive to an extent. If it happened during the day I would say the geo, but its unlikely. Put salt in the water (epsom), then maybe isolate it if you can, water changes. The fish will be fine without an eye, just make sure healing process is smooth. Albino bichirs are nearly always stunted. Biggest I have seen is henwards which is 20cmish. Apparently LA had one of a fair size too.
