  1. is he the one from page 1? defenatly looks alot better now that hes fully grown
  2. have you got more photos of the guy behind the wee fulla as he looks great.
  3. personally i would have a fuval one as the main one and have another one as a backup, like an aquaone heater set at about 3 degrees lower than the fuval. i dont see the point buying 2 good quality heaters when only 1 is needed and a cheeper one will do the same job as a backup. can i ask what will be in the tank?
  4. floaty glass ones, but i keep braking them....
  5. ok now im curious as to what will really remove chlorine, quick search on google came up with intresting results. the normal water conditioner RO my favorite: "just stick a piece of paper in it for one hour and it will collect the chlorine out of your water" lol granualated activated carbon boiling leaving the water in a glass container in the sun for a few hours i know the ro would but would a simple activated carbon filter do it?
  6. wow, hard to bileve it started as a swimming pool
  7. with them being bright red i think i would, and if it peformed the same as any other product at a similar or cheeper price i would.
  8. sorry i thought that it didnt completly remove the chlorine but dissapated some of it, like 60% can you get chlorine test kits?
  9. i live in west auckland and dont bother about treating the water unless its a huge water change, like 90% or more. but thats just me if your really bothered i would just buy a large 44 gal drum and run an airstone in it for 24hours before a water change

    Lego fish tank!

what you need in that tank is a gungan sub! http://www.brickshow.com/wp-content/upl ... 7161-1.jpg having it suspended in the water by nylon ofcorse to make it look like it was swimming through the water
  11. its more likely to be a marble angel where its parents where imported from Peru
  12. well the fact that a fish store sold it to you i wouldnt worry and just enjoy it for the plant it is and throw plant clippings in the compost/ rubbish bin instead of down the drain. not like maf or someone will hunt you down for an unconfirmed plant and tell you off will they? but thats just me..
  13. straight val was recently banned but twisted is not. i think its because straight val and gigantea is too similar so its easier to just ban that too.
  14. probally better than a guppy trap. ive found 5month old fighters in my canister filter
  15. theres spies everywhere! yes i saw him, a little worse for wear as he was missing a pectoral fin. but they're impressively big
  16. whered you get the moscows from? im intrested in some
  17. yes i saw some a while ago in a really shallow stream/ trickle of wet ground with a pool. i cant rember exactly where it was but i think it was around raroa terace off west coast road. i was really amazed as we didnt have to walk far up a bush walking track and found this little pool about 7cm deep and there was about 5 bullies in there!
  18. thats what i was going to suggest! and club prices are a bit lower that normal bar prices.
  19. davids seem to be unusally large for their size, you can oly give them a go, breeding tank with female seperated by coke bottle for 3+ days the release her just before lights out and see how she is in the morning.
  20. are you trying to breed them ali? generally if you got them from the shop theyre at breeding age. have a read of this website http://bettysplendens.com/articles/catv ... ?catid=855 ive found it to be one of the best guides on breeding fighters
  21. most people here use a clear fizzy bottle with the top and bottom cut off, and approx 3 days in the tank seperated so they can both still see and display to each other. i think its about the 4-6 months old
  22. we are being nice, just photos are pritty to look at. and well done it looks nice, can i suggest that you move the heater to the left so that it sits behind the ambulia and will be hidden, will make the tank look even better and raise the water level before pheonex44 sees it.. lol
  23. i had a tough tank tank made, and yea all of it was new clear glass while some people use tinted glass on the back and sides, if its all clear you can just turn the tank around during your next shift if you get a big scratch in it. haven't had one from greg yet though. i found lynn from tough tanks great to deal with, yes they're a little more expensive but they are alot closer to me than greg is and the quality of work done was great. best thing is that they have a cheep aquarium supplies store there to browse through when you pick it up
  24. personally i just keep it in a sealed containor in a dry place
