  1. your impellor isnt able to push the water up into the tank... there could be an airbubble in the filter, or the impelor isnt moving round fast enough. you dont need tools to remove it. should be able to hold the impellor/magnet and pull it out...
  2. yeah, thought so... just let the pressure build up... that's gravity working... if you can clean the impellor; do so... slowly raise the outlet back to the tank once pressure is normal.
  3. lower the outlet to the ground level IN A Bucket...
  4. open the filter, remove the lid ontop of the impeller, give it a clean, and then put it back in... make sure the little black bit at the end is secure (the lille rubber thing). lemme know if that works..
  5. ding! gotcha... i know that plant... grows well under t5's... haven't had much luck with it in very warm water.... ~26deg is ok... lemme know how you get on with it... it'll be interesting to know...
  6. never has a truer word been spoken, lol... :bounce:

  9. i wasn't about to buy it lol... id rather get some goldies or something...
  10. honestly that bumblebee thing looked like a clown plec with bloched markings instead of the normal...
  11. i think i know the one you are talking about... bought it cause it looked like a flat cabbage, lol... horrible plant literally withered away overnight.
  12. put the outlet lower in a bucket or some thing, until pressure builds up, then raise it slowly... it works well with a 2213/15.
  13. lower the pipes to the level of the filter... water will come out so beware... ideally put the filter on a chair of something and then put the water out pipe below it - in a bucket.
  14. couldn't resist putting just one last picture up...
  15. :bounce: That's good to know... congrats on the new purchase, lol... =) ask the people you buy it off, to show you all of its features.... the FX5 helps with water changes etc...
  16. given a choice between 2x 2215's or 1 FX5; I would choose the FX5. But as someone said before, the 2 eheims will be cheaper than that FX5. so if you can forsee yourself getting a larger tank, get the FX5 (make sure you get it on special though, lol... ive often seen it sold for $500 from retailers). It also has a higher resale value than the eheims. If not, you can get away with 2x2215's... which are also good... i was contemplating getting a 2215 as well... but i just didnt like how hard it was to clean compared to my fluval 405... (thinking of running both)... and if you do ever have warranty related issues both fluval and eheim have excellent after sales service...
  17. its v hard to compare eheim vs. fluval.. you will get a lot of contradicting info.... do you have a certain model of eheim and fluval filter in mind? for those of us who have seen the FX5 in action, few will dispute how good it really is... the 2213, 15 and above (2222, 2224) are V good filters, but not in comparison to an FX5. THe "big-daddy" of filters are: the eheim pro 3e (2076,2078), and the FX5. an eheim professional 3e (2076, 2078) is comparable to an FX5 and many would argue that they are far better... (you can link them to your computer to program the filter!). There are many advantages to having 2 smaller filters instead of 1 big filter - personally I like the idea of having 1 filter to clean instead of 2. hope this helps.....
  18. always have liked that first one! score! for you.... he is a stunner.... hopefully he will make some nice babies aye?
  19. remember double sided tape must go on the base of the speaker now... cant have you breaking more tanks! lol the dageti you gave me has gone missing btw, lol
  20. a heat pad? like an electric blanket? electricity costs... the flatties will kill me...
