  1. the juwels are prety good... as long as you have a warranty or something go for it.. safest bet are the Jagers, Fluvals and the Rena's. - but also bit more expensive... Rena's have an incredibly accurate thermostat...
  2. P Clear dude! its magic stuff... makes all those nasties clump together overnight.... its awesome stuff... :bounce: that's gonna be a sweet setup for plants btw...
  3. COol! something new for NZ perhaps? best of luck, and let us know what it turns out to be...
  4. hmm... lfs in chch should do it if you have the time.... p clear is great if you can see particulate matter... b clear is awesome for murky tanks... but if its "greeny" then wait for a phosphate test...
  5. some sites are saying L182, and some L183.... starlight bristlenose pleco.... L182 :http://www.aquariumlife.net/profiles/plecostomus/starlight-bristlenose-pleco/100065.asp there are more sites referring to L182.... beautiful fish..
  6. ha ha.. doubt it... plus if they didn't get on... then I'd have a magpie on my hands... pet shop won't be too pleased either, lol...
  7. lol... i know i want him too.. dunno about rusty rust though... may not be so keen...
  8. awww.. if only i knew how rusty would react with a magpie!
  9. sure they will! just turn up with the bird... tell them its a long beaked lorikeet or something.. lol... then when it gets feathers tell them u don't know how that happened! honestly they are such good birds.. i'd take him happily if i didn't have rusty...
  10. agreed! he is awesome, my new black velvet ct refuses to pose for photos at all... do you know how i can encourage him to make a bubble nest? I had 4 females for him to choose from and he doesn't care at all...
  11. everybody goes on TM lol... if happen to find any with red eyes let us know, haha :bounce:
  12. broken floor tiles are really good. the side that usually gets cemented on has a microstructure and doesn't soften or anything in the water.
  13. ive heard of one confirmed accidental spawn... not exactly "do-able" in the aquarium.... never know though... someone must be breeding them if they are so commonly available...
  14. test the water for the usual stuff... if A.OK then put a guppy in for a day or so... if the guppy swims after that then :bounce: add the other fish! (I must admit I never cycled any of my tanks, just didnt have the time - never lost any fish at all) - NOT that i recommend doing that....
  15. whoa! the tank is tanking you ages to set up! hurry hurry! we all want to see the end result :bounce:
  16. quickly find someone with a cracked 8footer, lol... put it in your lounge... lol.. no only joking. are all the fish ok?

hahaha lol :bounce: what a hungis... =) yes u spelt it right, though you could change his name and he wouldn't give 2 hoots, lol.
  18. ohhhh no way! that's horrible!
  19. :bounce: welcome! have fun at the river - friendly warning: river rocks are slippery and onlookers love watching people slip and splash right in.... not that I would know *splatter splatter cough*
  20. awww.. they are cute, and have grown heaps! :bounce:
  21. you'll need an antibiotic for about 7 - 10 days... furan or terramcin, amoxocyllin, oxytetracycline..... any thing that is broad spectrum... isolation is the best way to treat... also recommend copious amounts of stress coat - i find its amazing stuff - can put it on the eye directly as well as in the water.
  22. so ALL my brilliant as ideas were for nothing?
