  5. I HATE WINDOWS VISTA AND ITS REFUSAL TO WORK ON A 2000 DOLLAR COMPUTER    I hate that DX10 does not exist on win xp. I hate that I have had nothing but computer problems for 5 days now. I hate that the computer is only 5 days old. argh.
  6. you can have a fair few in a 2 ft tank. they get about 13 cm (is as large ive seen them) but are very slender. they need lots of hiding spaces, and need to be in a group. they are naturally shy fish. pH 6 - about 7.5 is good, but they can tolerate a wider range. they will eat left over food at the bottom and algae tablets. they are good scavengers. the sand should be deep enough for them to burrow in (they will actually sit in the sand). but if you have sand put lots of plants in there too :bounce: for algae eating you could get some ottos. khulis will be useless at eating algae off the glass.

  10. dont put it in that room unless you intend on having coldwater fish. butif you had to- polystyrene+pinkbatts+poly again as a wall, and then the tank - that on 3 sides. you could put a blanket on it at night - but that seems like a lot of work
  11. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: mine too!
  12. all you have to do is put the siphon in your tank at a 45 degree angle or so.. so that the sucky end fills up with water and that fills the chamber. then when its filled up with water, presto the water should start flowing out the pipe into hopefully a bucket or the lawn and not your carpet  if it does not start siphoning at first, you need to shake the pipe gently only to get rid of that trapped air bubble. there should be no dirt being uplifted from the base of the tank.
