  3. LOL> im a gonna call them up tomorrow and ask them to send it to the plam nth store! muahahahhaha

  6. ask someone on here if they have some for sale. PT&E section. what animates store was it and how much was it for?
  7. yep. AKA use daltons or JBL instead. far easier. far far easier. by a mile even.
  8. THEY eat everything and any thing. if you like i can send some hikari aro pellets down with christina for you to sample (you only have 1 sister right?)
  9. we usually have tim tams and cakes and stuff at our meetings too. i got choc muffins this time
  10. habitat - western africa, not the rift lakes though. softer, acidic waters. not aggressive, but is primarily a predator - small - medium insects, any thing that will fit in its mouth - so moths, butterflies and the like. great jumpers, always stick to the top of the tank, but settle at the middle - bottom at night when they sleep. they eat stuff like aros only they stay small. im not sure... mine ate an entire cicada! the whole thing! took him more than a day to finish eating it. and then he didn't eat for another 3 days.
  11. I love these guys. Im currently contemplating getting a whole bunch of them. Feed him wetas and crickets! its amazing how they can eat stuff that is too big for their mouths!
  12. I always stick to the brands that have a massive warranty - jager/eheim; fluval (old or new), and rena. even though you pay more for them - they don't seem to get spoilt. I mean my rena lasted me more than 10 years! so on an annual basis its cheap as chips. if they do get spoilt, you have a rock solid warranty so just trade in the spoilt one for another. Im a tad disappointed at the juwel heaters too. some work really well and some don't. there isn't that much consistency.
  13. . clearly that was a horribly phrased question hahaha. what i meant was - are their receptors really that sensitive? or is it that they produce more "hormone" (could be adrenalin, or some other - i dont know) - thus a higher concentration, and so more of a fright response.
  14. AFAIK most jebos have a bimetallic strip that bends and forms the circuit only after the temp has dropped over a degree or so. then it takes time to heat up. I don't like jebos either, their coils aren't long enough, and they lose their heating capabilities pretty fast. What sort of thermometer are you using New_to_fish_world?
  15. you don't need cpr! _________________ how well developed is their brain?
  16. That is pretty normal I would say for the average tank. Do you have a lid for the tank?
  17. BAhahahaha I couldn't help my self. ! yea... ill pass on that. __ cricketman - do you know if the fish are capable of producing adrenalin?
  18. welcome! you are welcome to our meeting next month. but if you need any help make use of the forums and the search function, and post away!!! :bounce:
  19. holy moly. glad to hear you are OK at the end of the day. sucks about your hand though. what is the expected recovery period?
  20. lots of poisonous marine stuff though (I suppose that is to be expected though)
  21. There was "interest" from the club. but we could organise it if we know the nitty gritty of it all. when, where, how etc. :bounce: timing seemed to be a real important one.

    Barebottoms

I do. but you would never know it as the rock i have literally hovers over the base of the tank. call it a false floor if you will. works wonderfully.
