  1. sheet of glass or - i like to use coral stands - that way they can be removed and shifted around. HFF has always had coral stands. you may need a relatively chunky tank though __ If you go down the glass route - then take 2 small thin pieces of glass and place them vertically on the sides of the tank (to the height you need) and then rest the real glass platform on it - silicone it there and its there for life. just like a turtle platform only not.
  2. neat plan. but maybe you do not need the platform covering all that space at the bottom where water can go. just a sheet suspended like another level will suffice. then you can have a hole in the middle and have a small pump there, and that can be the water fall.
  3. you must have an audi A8 to be the transporter!
  4. can you do a phosphate test reading? also, adding plants to your tank will help with that. HTH
  5. LOL I dont mind. rusty likes talking to new people and pooping on them too  least then ppl can see the tank, and maybe catch a glimpse of the fancy plecos? (least the ones i have not kept hidden safely).
  6. well there's an idea paul. im free on sunday, so i can take you to the meeting. scottie and tania are you coming to my place before?
  7. ok, so apparently i am working again tomorrow... but that's all good. im free after 5ish, and freeish on the weekend.
  8. yes. i presumed you would use a scalpel and not scissors. i recommend a meth blue-H2O dip straight after.
  9. you can cut fins, and they will regrow. just keep the water in good nick as they are more prone to diseases at that stage.
  10. yeh, m8 im at work at the moment. but can definitely meet up. you might even be able to see treo the angry hermit parrot who has no friends  im pretty sure rosy o gradys have poker nights. maybe the stunned mullet or high flyers and some other bars do it as well.

  14. under 16 I'd say? cause when youre 17 you dont want to be a junior any thing.
  15. are we talking mental age here? LOL  im 22, but young at heart (still watch my cartoons and choose cartoon network over the other channels)  sams pretty young, as is LA - only with him, he is as old as he feels. will give a 14 year old a run for his money.
  16. shutter speed on your camera. nice birds btw
  17. ok. so you need to re read the policy document outlining the terms and conditions. i think it will say, there is a quorum needed - and if that number is not met - then the organiser may choose to not hold the event. If any deposits are non refundable - and that is also on the policy document then they are indeed non refundable. the refund on the deposit will depend on "acts of god" - weather conditions, natural calamities etc. Now for the important questions - 1. Is the organiser of the event the owner / operator of the track? 2. was any thing signed? 3. i presume this was on kiwibiker? where were the terms and conditions advertised and/or displayed?
  18. so that is your story! glad the fish made it out alive. its a good thing you heard him too!

  20. yeh. either that, or till when you transfer the 4footer into the house. hey here's a thought, hows about i get those horrible breeders off your hands. ill even let you give me the tank that will cause so many problems. then way your discus will ahve a good home and will breed well./
  21. she needs a new tank did you say? well... ill watch out for those fireworks!
  22. I ordered a few giant bettas in for the animates down here at one stage. well one of the bettas came in a popped bag, and the courier man came running in saying that there was water leaking from the box. any how turns out this poor betta had a completely collapsed bag, and was just kept moist. im guessing for 24 hours or so, as the courier company keeps the boxes overnight.poor fish was squeezed in between all the other bags. The betta survived - i popped him into a qt tank, and he turned out to be the healthiest of the lot :bounce:
  23. pleco poo is a lot easier to clean than a slimy coating on a swimming pool floor. but id imagine that the creditors would clean the pool / dry it out if the house was being sold?
