  1. I have noticed the eye pattern changes occasionally which is kinda weird. They are awesome! The males in particular look very leathery.
  2. Sorry Joe, I'm not cutting this plant at the moment. It forms a canopy in my puffer tank and keeps them from being inclined to jump out even though there are lids on the tank.

    Hi all.

bit of wishful thinking going on there... Welcome chipmgnet
  4. I really don't understand why you have to keep complaining about the small images on this site every time you post a pic. You could have expressed your opinion in the fishroom website thread too. I too was unhappy when the picture size was limited when we transferred to the new forum a couple of years ago, but I can see why it was done. 640.480 isn't too bad and when i need to link to a higher definition image, i just use the img thumb code. I too would rather have the image sizes larger.. I've got a 24" monitor that dwarves the pictures. I hope this doesn't reflect the way you were spoken to when you first started keeping fish. we all had to start somewhere. ____ Clown loaches will come out and play if they feel secure in their environment. This could either be safety in numbers as they are a schooling fish or by having a well planted or shaded aquarium.
  5. i still dont get it... if you could get your $120 back for the L270 no harm done right? just tell him you're getting them!
  6. But he would be ok with you adding L46 to the tank you have at the moment? I don't see why you can't sell the L270 and get the L46 instead... keep the BN's they are fine with hypans. you need to make him see the advantages ..
  7. why don't you just resize them to 640x480? fish are pretty visible in the pic underneath.... or post the thumbnail link?
  8. Nah. don't have the space this year.
  9. my puffers would love a tank that size... ill get one made in the future.
  10. You speak to a shop owner and see if they can get the importer to work something out.
  11. He could have been talking about corkscrew val .... Needless.. the 6500K-6800K / 10000K spectrum grows it better than any other light.
  12. nah. its a display tank. might breed them next year, but i don' think i want to have any thing to do with baby discus ever again...
  13. ive seen them bigger than 12'' .. possibly 15-16'' 36'' is a bit much though.
  14. :-? I have never once received a package with the heat pad on top. Not even at the store. That's why I asked...

    Hi all.

    hi chickmagnet, and welcome.
  16. but really? normally at the bottom so that the heat goes up and stays for as long as possible in the box?
  17. wow. that's some pretty darn good packaging... but shouldn't heat pads be at the bottom not the top?
  18. you chucked macrandra? here I am with my 1 stick of macandra, giving it ferts everyday watching it grow....
  19. o.0 what red/pink plant? I have lots of red plants I've never really grown val in a tank. mostly outdoors.
  20. I found my grandad's old tripod that he must have bought 50 odd years ago in Geneva and used that to hoist the camera. I used my normal camera to take the video, so im pretty pleased about the quality of the video, but it took forever to upload to youtube. I have the whole footage at 1080p so im stoked about that. Next time ill check to see if the eggs are fertile.

  22. They didn't last more than 2 minutes once I turned the lights off. Far too many egg sniffing fish in that tank!
