  1. It is for ma puff puffs! this way they don't jump out the tank
  2. female = silver, no colour and relatively plain and ugly.
  3. even with all plecos, you will probably want some sort of small tetra like cardinals or rainbows or something active and constantly there - you wil find the plecos will hide less then. now you have a BP vista right? the tank is like 3ft something long but really high and not so wide. I personally think its like treading on thin ice. I'd certainly add more L270 in there but with L46 costing what they do, I'd be cautious.
  4. thanks! i'd love to plant your tank but I am very bossy and demanding... It's the best part!
  5. everything in my post above stays the same except i meant L270 not L260, all those numbers are making me a little confuzzled at the moment.
  6. water and a couple of fish and you'll be set. Now with 30L you are limited to keeping very few fish in that tank. you could do something like - 6 ember tetras or 6 mosquito rasbora or 1 siamese fighter or (insert name of small fish here). now, don't listen to any one who tells you to add all your fish at one go. add a couple, then build the numbers up over a span of 3 weeks or so. Also read up on "cycling your tank".
  7. Its a sony DSC H3. Sort of a point and shoot with a few extra options. Nothing close to a DSLR though. I got it as a gift from dad as a belated 18th birthday present.
  8. Occasionally. I'd get bored of them if i saw them all the time. That's why i have so many plecos in there! that and plecos rule.
  9. are you going to put the L46 with the L260? Hypans can be aggressive with each other. now im not a stickler to the rules, but when you spend that sort of money on something you should leave no room for error. now when you treat with furan II, don't make the mistake that most stores do; and complete the treatment like you would if you were on an antibiotic dose. do lots of water changes and seriously consider adding a cannister filter to the tank if you are adding L46 in there. They like moderate water flow and clean, good quality water which is easier achieved if you have a cannister filter. HTH
  10. I see a breeding tube!!!! THEY ARE SPawning!!!!!!! *runs like mad in circles. *willynilly
  11. you haven't just muted the speakers eh?
  12. As high as your tank is I guess. In a few months Ill be sending this plant around the country so it can be grown. working on the nitty-gritty of it at the moment.
  13. I should get a male puffer sometime this week and I will give a serious go at breeding them.
  14. These are some of the best pics I have ever taken of the R. rotundifolia in my puffer tank, so I thought I'd share them -
  15. you can use duckweed, indian fern and/or ludwigia helminthorrhiza. Tiger lotus is good to form a canopy.
  16. And finally FTS - All the farmed plants have been removed now.
  17. Another update! Tiger Lotus (same baby you sent me caryl!) - L. Aromatica green - Veiltail Blue Ram - Dwarf Flag cichlid (male) -
  18. scrape the eggs off the glass with a blade, and put them in a separate tank with some water from the present tank and some new water. Then we can play the "guess the egg" game
  19. At $18 an otto, i'd be hatching them
  20. ottos? some people have all the luck.
  21. they look like cory eggs. ottos could be possible too! so could snails if they are jelly like.
