  1. no 177 as far as I know. not retail any how. 'leopard cactus' are in collector hands now. again, not retail.
  2. Edited my post to reflect common names. Phantoms are pretty 'hidey hide' fish.
  3. late bloomers! that's like 7 puffers you got for free!!! that's brilliantly awesome.
  4. next month is an important and what we hope to be a crucial meeting in palmerston north. the month after that is the tank crawl in palmerston north and surrounding (perhaps) then meeting in palmy, month after; then tank crawl in wellington the following month.
  5. I get so happy when people post in the catfish section They would look good in a troph tank, and they would do well too. you should get one. It is quite hit and miss putting 2 of these together, as they are known to be quite territorial and aggressive to each other, but it can be done. I know a member on here who has 9? of them in an 800L tank with no aggression reported.
  6. "Gold nugget" is a reference to one of 3 different species of fish. First is the L177 - Something that I am looking for. They stay smaller and have larger, and fewer spots. Best looking by far. L018 - Is the fish pictured above. Smaller spots and more in number. L081 - many small spots.
  7. L128 - viewtopic.php?f=23&t=44450 - Blue Phantom Pleco L18 - viewtopic.php?f=23&t=43999 - Gold Nugget Pleco L002 - viewtopic.php?f=23&t=44789 - "tiger" panaque L066 - viewtopic.php?f=23&t=44731 - King Tiger Pleco

    Hey Sam!

I ate a cheese puff that looked much the same!
  9. Mine didn't hide at all. It was constantly out and in my face, eating everything in its way. Neither did another L18 that I sold to another local member. can't comment on all of them though. Remember that most 'fancy' plecos will hide in tank. Especially hypans! Cories and other dither fish encourage them out. The L18 is what I would recommend for a planted tank. Goldie plecos would be nice but get bigger a tad faster and tend to have the 'self landscaping' gene  .
  10. yeah those are his. The pulley above Jill's 8x3widex2 tank is pretty cool. The lid is attached to it, and you push a button and the lid gets lifted up. push another button and the lid comes back down again.
  11. next time i spend more time making my hair. its totally worth it
  12. Of-course it would be considered food. are you getting a fully grown royal whiptail?
  13. now that you're online you might as well give us an update!

  15. its not easy raising baby discus full-stop. ha ha. its a right pain.
  16. omg. hahahha. overload much? how many enclosures have you got now?
  17. well... good things take time  we were not late! just made a fashionable entrance. but honestly i thought we were supposed to be there an hour after when we were actually supposed to be there.
  18. LED's for aquaria are not cheap. T5 HO's are a better option.
  19. wow. That's a lotta water. I was wondering what everyone was on about.
  20. I really like the second pic. It shows the pattern well.
