  1. so? it'll be fine. really. you don't need a lot of salt. but if you really want a salt bath will be A-OK too.
  2. little salt and he'll be alright. as long as your water is nice and clean you won't have any thing to worry about.

  5. I have not seen them for maybe 2-3 years now. I do not think they not available retail, but i can ask a possible breeder for you if you like?
  6. Post 3-4 pics in each reply and you'll be sweet.
  7. you need more. in a very densly planted tank - min 6, normally you'd need 8+ to see cool behaviour.
  8. That's cause he is a skunk loach and they are nothing short of satan's work on this planet. i would get rid of the skunk loach, i have yet to see a well behaved one... and ive seen hundreds

  10. the little low to the ground one? that is a crypt. looks like its in the emersed form. possibly wendtii
  11. you just have to copy and paste the "IMG" code.
  12. yeah, my Hypans enjoy courgette and cucumber as well as potato on occasion. They will do just about any thing if a hikari wafer gets into the tank, and they forget all about hiding and being secretive. I typically have to put 4-5 of them in the tank so that some of the other bottom dwellers get a chance to eat them and its a complete feeding frenzy with tails flicking everywhere.
  13. ha ha sweet. like any other hypancistrus, they like fish protein and good quality sinking tablets like hikari. Raw shrimp and fish goes down a treat and is great for conditioning them. Congrats on the 'acquisition'.
  14. send me the pics rod (email button) and ill post them for you. This is what is supposed to happen - you leave the eggs with the parents; the eggs hatch - babies stick to the parents and feed of a certain slime coat the parents produce. This is called discus milk. After a few days they eat other things as well like brineshrimp and egg yolk. The water should be of an impeccable quality and water changes are to be done regularly - often twice a day if not more. raising fry is possibly the biggest challenge.
  15. Quite literally a cradle snatcher then!
  16. so a car wash is out of the question then huh?
  17. OMG hahahhahaha. That is the funniest thing ever! That looks like a GBA to me, pm kiwiplymouth and see if he agrees.
  18. yes yes.. sandysme just sent me a txt asking me how long it was going to take me to make my hair. Honestly... I don't know where you people got the idea that I am that high maintenance from.
  19. No!!! I might have to reconsider this whole tank crawl thing...
  20. Grow them out and see. I think it is highly unlikely that dems and yellows have cross bred.
  21. Pretty much all of my fish were from Kenneth Doesn't get any better than that in my opinion!
  22. post a pic. were your parent yellows clean? That means they did not have bars on them (usually black or grey); no wash out in the colour. yellows are supposed to be (in the trade any how) bright yellow with the black band on the fins. no other colours at all. newly hatched yellow - (you normally wont see them this small, as they are in the mouth) Good yellows - Smidey on here, also has some beautiful yellows (or had). Occasionally juvi yellows will have some faint bars on them, but normally they are clean. depends on what the parents are like.
  23. Genetically unlikely for a Labidochromis to cross with a Pseudotropheus. I've had them together and they bred like rats - only within the same species. Baby yellows are noticeably yellow and dems have bands on them. I'll see if i can find any of my pics.
