  1. send me your address and ill send you some decapsulated brine shrimp. but its a long weekend and that means ill have to send it on tuesday. Use ocean water if you can't get the salt-water ratio just right. the will hatch in 24 hours at tropical temperatures, so let the hatchery sit in your tank with an airstone running in the hatchery. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=41977&hilit=brine+shrimp&start=30 from this thread - viewtopic.php?f=4&t=38786&p=426261&hilit=brine+shrimp#p426261
  2. yeah. DIY setup. the proper ones are about $1800 for a 4ft setup. bit more now cause the dollar lost 4 cents to the green-back.
  3. post a pic. fins break all the time in courier. see the broken ray at the top? fixed in a few weeks.
  4. cut fins will grow back no problems at all. will only take a couple of weeks. were those the ones on TM that i left a question about? i saw some BD's on there not too long ago that looked nice, but were not BD's in my opinion. they did not have a red colour on the eye, and looked like ocean greens instead. nice body shape though.
  5. Great. More political correctness. Perhaps they should allocate some of the iwi funding in the budget to protect them instead of wasting DOC resources.
  6. ha! LED lighting costs an absolute fortune if you want it to actually sustain plant growth. It will not pay itself off in a year. Better off sticking to T5's. A full LED setup for a 4ft tank to be able to grow plants is about $800 with a mix of 6500K and colour enhancing led's. plus your tank is deep too.
  7. ive seen you reference DD2 quite often. who is that?
  8. Clown loaches are not scaleless fish! Just because we cannot see their scales with the naked eye doesn't mean they don't have any. I've had clowns longer than ive had any other fish, and they are well able to handle a full dose of white spot cure and salt.
  9. I do now though.. http://www.junglelabs.com/pages/details.asp?item=JT703 what a genius idea  ... cause aquaplus and air are no longer good enough. or just air even..
  10. I am no where near that dedicated
  11. its less than i would use, so i deem it to be safe
  12. 20 of them wanted to get in on the action. soon to be 32
  13. nothing to worry about. it was probably just the move and the fact that 'he' is a little small at the moment. put the temp up to 28
  14. qt tank him.. i'm never that stressed about ich. its pretty easy to get rid of. then again, ive only had my fish get it once in about 8 years now. and that was with CL's from a shop. chucked in loads of salt and it was gone. most people don't agree with my usage of salt though...
  15. odd. it isn't common for plecos to get ich. but it is ich. little salt, white spot cure and treat as normal..
  16. wow. that's pretty cool! I want to breed mine too!
  17. Oh hello. you're a local. I'll be able to help more in a week once my exams are over.
  18. congo fern will do better in low light though. that's how i grow it. it dies in my high light tank.
  19. do you have strong lighting or will this go in the low light tank you are planning?
  20. You will be waiting a long time. It's taken me 2 months to grow it to its current state.
  21. its good for making some fish breed. lowers the pH slightly and adds tannins to the water.
  22. whoa.. my affins doesn't do that...
