I hope it does because after i finish my BAC of Science (tec) (animal behav major) i want a job!!! HAHA
  2. also those plecs like higher temps, so that change to 28 should see an improvement.

  6. awsome!!! now let some nice green algae grow over it, or grow some java ferns and it would look sweet!!!
  7. i would happly pay that to get a certain few L# in the country...
  8. both look like males to me?
  9. we have wanted that list now for a long time...
  10. I am thinking a parrot room really, they are big birds and need the space. Thinking about a guarage conversion...
  11. I am seriously thinking about getting a blue macaw from Trademe http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 248028.htm however this will be my first time owning a parrot, I have worked with lories in the past but is this too much of a big step up? I am aware of all the training and $$$ involved in raising such a bird but i think it will be worth it in the long run... also is their a difference in personality from a female over a male? also if i got a male now would it be hard pairing him up with a female down the line?
  12. easy way to find out if they are a containment specie would to ring the reptile park in auckland. He has them, plus some other wicked reps so he would be able to tell you off the top of his head... here is a link http://www.reptilepark.co.nz/
  13. from time to time a breeder in auckland has some very nice orandas come up, they are very nice and demand high prices usually... also he had black lions that he is working on breeding too.
  14. Can anyone tell me what happend to the frogs that went up for sale a while ago? the auzzie ones!!!
  15. no they are in private hands, talked to a breeder while back. she had a few but they where really hard to raise... could be coming through in the next few years but for a good 5k at least!!!
  16. what about those auzzie frogs that came up for sale recently? what happend to them?
  17. just get 3 nice big sponges and a large air pump, cheap but very affective.
  18. well on the 1st of the month when the lists come out ill be looking... however they are a illegal to import so i doubt it, it also could be a false import/id... Could be L52 or chocs... but with a retail of $800 i doubt it... I also doubt that they will be selling for $800... i know that these cost around 125 euros or around 150USD for a 3cm specamin... then you have paperwork freight quarantine GST also if they have been imported i dont think we will see any females, i would expect them to be held back for breeding and to protect the investmant... i can understand why they are doing it... if they can get someone to pay $800 a pop then they dont want someone under cutting them at $500??? but i doubt that they are on the lists, but i would like to be proven wrong... i can say ill be ordering some if their on...
  19. Does anyone know why goldfish where taken off the import list?
  20. I saw that some people where trying to get goldfish on the import list again... anyone on here submit that??? also saw that someone submited for african greys from england and spur tortoise??? they have be declined funnly enough but did anyone her apply for them?
  21. Oh and i too heard that their was a pair of lacies for sale for the casual 20g a little while ago... could be interesting to see if they pop up? (no names sorry)
  22. i wonder if maf will ever realise? that there could be some big money in this? strickt import regs... expensive licences... regulation standards??? all this generates money!!! if one person paid say $100 per imported reptile per year then think of the revenue if say 10,000 people owned that type of reptile? and most people just dont keep one reptile? they may have a pair or a breeding room with 10 pairs??? If MAF sat down with people who know there stuff then we could have a list like we do with tropical fish by dinner?!!!?
  23. well have you seen the list from the glaser (HUGE german exporter) i have? infact i can tell you the export price for any fish you see here in NZ? they are incredable expensive, genuin adults WC discus (depending on colour and what part of the river) will cost you a arm and a leg.. unless you have other sources???
  24. wild discus some in seasons, so when the season re-opens then mayby we will see some. However they are very expensive to export $150 USD then you have q and retail? so mayby $600-700 a pop? not something that will move to fast. Not only that VERY delicate!!! I would be to scared to own one! Do you import your discus?
