  1. most zoo/conservation want some sort of educational back ground now... so 4-5 years of study isnt bad if its something you really want to do... Most places require a Masters degree too?
  2. if the Ph is changing that fast your fish would be dead... I think your test kit may be out? Its called a Ph crash and normally results in a mass wipe out.
  3. I am after a product of similar or exact type... want to use it on my locusts rack??? http://www.reptilebasics.com/4-flexwatt-heat-tape.html
  4. breeders not happy to let them go so its going to be another 5 days... I have pics of the set-up if anyone want to see them?
  5. yup i know that, i am stocking up on baby locusts at the moment for them.
  6. i have breeder crickets arrving soon and ill keep the locusts to the side i prefer locusts because they are slower movers??? thats whay i have read!!! But yea there is 50 babys around 3mm in a 40 liter container atm.
  7. they are tiny mayby 3mm!!! Im not happy aye, fully got the order number the wrong way round. How long will it take them to grow? temps are a 33 and fresh food every day... I have chucked in a slice of apple too? My crickets will arrive soon to they are adults so they should start breeding soon.
  8. cool, i get all my heating equipment today so will be able to set to correct temps.
  9. got 50 Locusts today, i ordered the wrong size so i am going to have to grow them out... I have some crickets on the way (adults) for breeding and to feed the Leos that now arrive next saturday as that is when the breeder is happy for them to go. For the locusts I have them in 50 liters plastic tub, grass and egg crates... they have a 60watt lamp on them until me heat cable arrives for them then ill switch them onto that (I have a contoller to keep temps at about 28... Am i doing it correct?
  10. I have stuck it to the stand, now i just have to play with it to get the correct temp.
  11. is a glass tank but i have rubber pieces to raise the tank off the stand where the mat will sit, will be .8cm of a gap between the mat and tank.
  12. the exo mat says it needs to be stuck down to a surface, does this surface need to be a stand or can it be a xtra piece of wood or foam that i can move as needed?
  13. I have a exo-terra mat, now it says that it needs to have to backing pulled off and stuck onto the surface. can i stick it to a piece of polostyrene so i can move it at a later date if need be?
  14. not only that you kill a wasp more come!!! they let of a phermone!!!
  15. can the afford it? Its like dishing out traffic fines to people that are on the benefit and they end up paying it at $5 per week for 3 years? is there a point? Chuck them out and mark the passport so everytime they travel they get flagged up as potential smugglers and are searched.
  16. $12,000!!! WOW well we have it good, we can keep them for free :)
  17. but back on topic If not really a fan on how the snakes are kept in those small cages, seams like they would be so board just chilling in a tub with a water dish
  18. well they can according to people who breed them on a commercial size Sources http://www.geckosetc.com/htm/care.htm http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 515AAzVSLo http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/newbie-a ... worms.html (goes on a varied diet but states Meal Worms can be kept on a sole diet) http://www.leopardgecko.com/leopard-gecko-care http://www.leopardgeckoguide.com/leopar ... -and-diet/ http://www.leopardgeckokeeping.com/what ... os-eat.php just a few i found in 5 mins
  19. well most people who try to make money from animals need to be set-up to do so... L46 you would need many many pairs because they take 2 years to mature, have a MAX of 13 eggs per spawn and take a long time to grow to a sellable size Leopards require expensive diets if your not set-up correctly, and again are slow breeders...
  20. Is this Leopard Geckos and L46? I dont see their prices dropping for a few yeaars. They are hard to source... Then with the Leopards if someone works on a Morph then the bucks will go back up. However yes if the bill passes many will be chucked into the wild and i dont see the prices dropping again, they may even rise as they will be hard t o source and will only go to serious breeders/collectors that know what they are doing.
  21. I hope it doesnt. It only hurts serious reptile breeders who have invested big bucks in their breeders plus the states go from one extreme to another, they try a outrite ban on exotics to this?
  22. Saturday if all goes well... Hans PMd
  23. no but most wouldnt wana risk a fish that wholesales for $400+ to sit in their tanks, and the risk of them dying whilst in those tanks... Yes this is true about the driving to auckland
