Did anyone see 1 news??? the same toxins found in pufferfish has now killing our dogs :(!!! do you reckon they will be taken off the import list?

talked to a importer who said they were going to be (+some other fish) added to the 2010 list? Probably imported and breed??? However i talked to the old owner of the goldfish bowl, he told me what their was a wholesaler who was acctually trying to breed them ATM??? so i guess we will see what happens (that is if anything does?)

HAHA mayby could be a big possability... yes they become more of pets than fish if you know what i mean? a dog without the problems...

After seeing livingarts video on youtube with his arros, i am now kicking myself for giving up the hobby... I have a 350 liter aquaone tank in the boat shed that i was thinking about selling but now im haing second thorts... DAME why oh why did i look at that post !!!! I am sick of having small fish like neons (no disrespect intended) I want something that looks that part... I like to start with a small fish and end big... I was thinking 5x Sliver Sharks (5cm) 1x Black Shark (5cm) 5x Clown Loaches (3-5cm) 2x Ghost Knife (5cm) I know that i will have to go bigger/rehome but i wouldnt mind the idea of 600 liter tank in the livingroom, with some nice big fish to look at... So i guess this is the start to my log, when i sell that other tank i will get started on this project...

every time i see large fish it almost wants to make me set up my tanks again... but then reality set in however i have a 300 liter aquaone which id love to re-set up...

thats rather expensive even for AUZ... usually around $1100 AUZ per fish and thats at about 4cm? so mayby but i would rather buy 25 juvies and grow them out??? far better investment (and fun ) I know of breeders that would sell them for $125 USD around 200NZD give or take if i am thinking or the correct exchange rate... But we wont see them for a long time sadly (hope someone will prove me wrong) because id be 1st in line (along with many other people) to snap them up:)

do you have a licenced facility to keep them in>>>??? many fish on the import list will never make it in due to mark up... no one is going to pay a good $200 - 300 unless they are series hobysits, even then their are not 300 of them around sadly... Heard a rumor that the L46 was comming onto the lists, dobt will see them put id love to

+ Zoo licence... you can have many wonderful creatures with a zoo licence, MAF even tell you how to build the inclosuers too!!!

make sure that the sand is moved regulary, as a build up of waste does occur and ends up in spikes... However i saw your stocking list and dont think that their will be to many issues...

If we had a permit system like AUZ does then we wouldnt have so many issues... If we had a list of what we could have again... less issues??? makes sense??? couple of days work could save many $$$$ and upset keepers...

ours is around $600 but thats with a huge heating system :) dont like to be cold :) mayby its time we move to goldfish... No heater and dont need lights for the fancy plants!!!

I see this argument come up regulary... dont buy this because you damage this... however you drive a car that destoys the atmosphere??? however driving a car is a life requirement, buying cadberys isnt (well to some it is) making a change in brand isnt that hard. I drive a car everyday i burn gas but i have little to no choice? however when im in the supermarket i can choose what products i buy. I mean everyone says that one person can make a difference, if one person doesnt buy one cadbury bar a day thats $436.80 cadbury looses from one person buying 1 bar a day... now imagine 100,000 thats $43680000!!! adds up really.... now if 1000000 didnt thats $43680000!!! they would feal that!!! So i am not going to buy cadbury and do my part because hay why not promote a brand that is NZ and isnt destroying the environment>>>

Sera just launched a new all in one tank... sera is a VERY good german brand, ask your shop... not to badly priced, very nice looking unit butt not big enough for tangs... smaller fish like Clowns, Gobys, Shrimps and from what i understand the light/skimmer is very good!!!
