  11. nah it wont most peoples houses are around or over 16degC aneway 29degC would shorten their lifespan tho remembering they can live for a very long time and get very big (u have seen my black moor , he will get to twice that easy) my tank is too small for my goldfish im gunna build a pond when i shift keep some in there then maybe buy a bigger tropical community and keep the goldfish in my 200L and turn the old goldfish tank into a brackish tank so i can get a puffer
  12. bare in mind if u only want to keep goldfish no heater is perfectly fine also they can over winter in ponds taht ice up

well im pretty sure they will all have sailfins a lot of them are black from halfway down to the tail and orange at the front some are splotchy black and orange yet to see lyretail in them , and as for my guppies some of the males are starting to develop rather nice colours
  14. lol i mite scare people we worked it out for rent and gas at two bottles a month and 160 a month power 80 a month ph and broadband its only 110 a week ea so pretty bloody good it willmost likely end up being cheaper than that
  15. that looks cool the tone of the light is about rite for the tank beter than the nasty harsh t!@ bulb that was in ther just 1 thing tho java fern shouldnt be planted in gravel as the rhizome(roots ) will rot its meant to be attached to driftwood or rocks , the moss u can just chuck in there or tye it 2 something or put it under the driftwood a bit
  16. lol we definatly want the house its too gud to be true we were just a bit worried about the cost of gas etc as we have never used it b4 but it sounds all good . u can have our old house its on the market 250k innes rd lol
  17. my axolotls are listed now if u want to add them to the list TM auction 171807398 could somebody PM me the bank acc details for the fund so i know where to put the money once they sell?
  18. i cant remeber the name of it but it was dirt cheap and come in lil sachets but u would need to get it from a vet so depending on wether they charged u consultation fees or not wether its worth it, it is just a bacteria based thing to restore good gut bacteria, in saying that ur health food capsules would proabably work too i dont think its the sort of thing u could over dose on
  19. gas is on demand water heating we wouldnt ever run out of hot water like u can with a hot water cylinder(which could be a problem in its self) on gas and rockgas seemed to think we would use around 1 gas bottle a month($112) for water heating and gas hobbs and up to another 1/2 bottle if using the gas fire at nite. that sounds expensive right , but considering we live in an art deco house with no insultaion a heat pump which does nothing, 3kw hotwater cylinder with an uninsulated concrete header tank sitting exposed on the roof; our power bills here are 250 -270 for 3 adults the majority of this is water heating then heatpump . now consider the new house where there will be 5 people to split the rent and utilities with , the house is sunny insulated and not mouldly, every single recessed downlight fitting in the house has energy saving bulbs (so 15w instead of 100w, big differnece when there is over 100 bulbs) also we wont need to run 2 dehumidifyers 24/7 to combat the damp
  20. i had fun with the croaking noises too drove the cats nuts
  21. i give my goldfish and plecos corgette i just boil it in microwave 4 a few mins so it sinks a whole corgette can dissapear overnight! i have been buying more expensive fish foods lately its worth it just to see the fish with better coulors and healthier they get a variety of freeze dried foods and live brineshrimp occaisionely finely chopped beef as well as sprilina flakes and jbl tabis, chopped freshwater shrimp and mysis flakes
  22. most vets stock a natural gut bacteria and dose according to weight and type of animal my vet explained this to me as our rabbit had a cocoid infection. its just a powder u put in their drinking water
  23. try and cut just above a bud or where leaves come out of the main stem by doing this reguarly u will end up with lots of plants and some of the taller weedier varieties are encouraged to branch out and bush up
  24. most of the halogen desklamps are 20w they would work good however the light that come out of them is rather yellow i have a nice looking 2ft fitting i could sell u for $30 i think its aqua 1 not sure its powder coated black and can either sit on top of ur aquarium cover glass or be suspended from the ceiling( its a single tube fitting )
