  5. I've had em in the past, when I had floating plants. I had an oily scum on the water which I skimmed off and increased surface agitation. They went away
  6. I believe that a photo tank is usually quite narrow front to back to keep the fish in focus and that you put it in front of your main tank which acts as a background.
  7. I have moved 3 footers with some fish still in em a couple of times, a bit sloshy with 6 inches of water in them, but thats what towels are for.
  8. Dunno, if something dies in my community tank its stripped clean within an hour or so, greedy little buggers

    going away ...

Get an auto feeder, I got 2 sera ones yesterday for less than $50 each. Make sure to try them out for a few days before you go away tho just to make sure the quantity is set right and make sure its all going ok.
  10. I do a heavy dose of excell daily (10ml for a 200l) and have lost 1 cory in the 4 months I have been doing it.
  11. My Geo has had some lumps come up. they look like pimples. its had them before and they go away after they come to a "head". I'm thinking some kind of parasite.
  12. By any chance do you treat for algae? I have used algae fix twice and each time lost a couple of cories over the next few days.
  13. Nice, what do they sell for if u dont mind me asking?
  14. Thanks guys, its interesting stuff, I will do some digging and see what comes up from the engineers at the council.
  15. Lol a spectacularly precise answer, any chance of further enlightenment?
  16. So mister science teacher dude, chemistry isn't really my thing, but is it correct that if the chlorine or Cl compound oxidises on organic compond/cell it will have bonded with what ever it has oxidised & it will be become stable. So extrapolating from this, a big water change all in one hit will have a negative effect on the bacteria and the fish. A continuous slow drip into the aquarium will see the Chlorine almost immediately used up by the large mass of organic material in the tank. Therefore a continuous dripper system (which I use on my breeding tanks 2-4 litres/hr) will provide pretty stable conditions, with very little free chlorine zapping around causing damage?
  17. I have about 10 myself and there appears to be a definite difference in 1or 2 of them the "girls" (or fat piggies as I call em) are huge and thick. Good luck I hope you get some success.
  18. Damm I want some of your Daphnia, they must be HUGE! I only have small ones  Daphnia envy
  19. Chuck in some big fat Daphnia, even if they cant eat the big ones they can eat the new born daphnia when they drop. Nice snack for them before meal times. 8)
  20. Speak for your self, I'm not crazy banana banana.
  21. malawiman breeds some nice fish down this way, I'm usually heading up to the big smoke most weeks so could do a drop off.
  22. Someone always has to take it too far  thats crazy talk Caryl
  23. It grabs em at night when the other fish are sleeping, my ornate is such a slug but I lost a few fish before I realised he was big and fast enough after all.
  24. A regulator controls the pressure, if there is no flow it will only build-up to the allowable pressure. so as long as you have the solenoid after the regulator, you are gold.
  25. I'd be keen for a go, send me a message when you are heading up.
