  1. Hmm I could see myself getting 'rehomed' and yes I would love to pop in sometie foxglove. I will PM you when I'm back from Auckland.
  2. Thanks Yeah I did, I pretty much knew it was one of his as soon as I saw his tanks! Small world, this fishy business! Hmm yes that is true your house is smaller than mine but I have 1.5 other people living with me, and have crammed enough in here already and I want to upgrade the tank to a 4" one the same at some stage!! And I live in Wadestown (snobsville) where people seem to think anything smaller than 300sqm may as well be a studio apartment. Hmm, I don't remember 6 tanks in your living room, what have you got now?
  3. Yes sadly we have to waste a bunch of space with beds, furniture, a kitchen, bathroom, how ridiculous.
  4. What size tank would you need for a couple of puffers only?
  5. Only about 280L not including the 3 or so litres the dehumidifyer sucks out of the air each day.
  6. Hmm MTS just can't happen in my house, it is only 100sqm, and we don't have a garage. I think my husband is rather relieved at this fact!!
  7. Well 3 weeks later, I would hardly recognise this guy now...
  8. My malawi tank (please don't judge, I've only had cichlids for about 4 weeks) and my little son's 80L community tank
  9. Yes there's a tunnelweb in my letterbox and I haven't collected my mail for a week. Here's the spidey.
  10. A tarantula, if only to try and cure my fear of spiders. Or make it worse. I have held one, a chilean rose and because it was so big and slow moving for some reason it wasn't scary.
  11. I am wanting to buy a small aviary, just more like a really big cage, but suitable for outdoors. If anyone has one they want to get rid of, I would be glad to take it off your hands!
  12. Just to clarify a couple of things. I am happy to bring fish back from Auckland but am not able to stop along the way, ie Hamilton, Taupo, etc. I am not experienced at bagging fish, and I won't have time, so please have fish bagged up for transporting when I am coming to collect. While I will be super attentive, I can't be responsible for fish which don't arrive in the condition you were expecting. I hope I don't sound all meany but just need to make sure the day doesn't turn into a train wreck!!
  13. Ok so we are all set to go to Auckland, leaving Wellington at midday on Thursday the 5th of June, most likely straight through (with the obligatory stops one makes when one has a 3 year old) and then back from Auckland on Sunday 8th June. I have a Honda Odyssey and we won't need much luggage so we will have room for fish. I am happy to collect fish from people's houses in Auckland with a contribution for around-Auckland petrol costs. And then fish will need to be collected from my place on the evening (hopefully we won't be arriving home at some ungodly hour!!). So, if you would like some fishies brought down to Wellington from Auckland (or vice versa!), let me know!! :bounce:
  14. Still waiting to hear from friends but will let y'all know as soon as I know
  15. We are 80% likely going up to Auckland (driving) for the weekend on the 5th or 6th of June and returning on the 8th. I just wanted to put it out there if anyone from Wellington wants some fishies brought back for them from Aucks. Don't get too excited yet cos we need to confirm with the peeps in Auckland we're going to see, but just wanted to give y'all a heads up. I'll let you know when I know for sure.
  16. I have to add as an aside that none of those Bam products work.
  17. Like everyone else, so very sorry to hear about this. This might be a silly question but would insurance cover any of the financial loss? Surely fish are part of contents insurance? And it was an accident.
  18. I think I'll wait for something larger. Thanks for all your advice
  19. Well I think I will have to start small as I don't have the biggest section, but I was looking at this one... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 701317.htm and wondering if it was a good starting out aviary or is there something else I should be looking for?
