  2. The fishless cycle is now complete and only two weeks from when it started. ammonia 0. nitrite 0. nitrate 10ppm. ph 7.4. kh and gh both 71.6 ppm :bounce: I did a 10% water change and added 1 oscar, 1 pleco and 1 BGK all about 30cm in size. I plan to do daily water checks for a while yet and slowly add the ornates, fire eel and perhaps a couple of chocolate talking cats.
  3. I couldn't tell you. I have never had small fish in they same tank as Banjo's but I wouldn't put it past them
  4. He has made 4 tanks for me so far and i'm really pleased with them. I must admit that he is a bit on the slow side but worth the wait. His mobile number is on his web site.

  8. You can get Chocolate Zebra's L270 Mr Pleco is the man to talk to. I got a group from him, They are great fish and doing really well.
  9. Its pretty much the nature of the fish. They are noturnal after all. I believe that red light is the best way to fool them into thinking that its night.
  10. Yeh I know, Ive been treating the whole tank for months now but it just wont go away. It doesn't seen to be the contagious strain thou
  11. This site may be of some help to you. http://www.austinglass.com.au/aquariums.html keep us updated if you decide to D.I.Y

    Hi all

Hi Jimbo and welcome. Nice tank and a good pics :bounce:
  21. Hi and welcome, there is no need to purchase store bought products for a fishless cycle. Here is a link to what i have been up to in the last week or two. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=38849
  22. Thanks mystic. Its 2400 x 750 x 500. Sometimes i think that i should have gone 600 wide but 500 suits the room better. Its not quite 8 foot but 8 foot sounds better than 7.87 foot
  23. I can't believe it. I did my normal ammonia test today and it had gone down a little so i decided to test the nitrite. It was off the chart. I have never seen a tank produce nitrite so quick. I recon that it has only been at operating temp for 7-8 days. Its was a mad rush to remove the angels. I also did a ph test and its at 7.4 Im cool with that but will keep a close eye on it.
  24. I have four of these heaters. http://www.aquariumproducts.com.au/cata ... 36&catID=7 They are the best heater that I have found for accuracy and being consistant.
  25. Not if my wife gets her way and the Oscar and silver dollars move in
