agree to all above except that you should only have to gently push the mask onto your face and it should seal for a moment or two. and squeeze when you dive down can be avoided by slight exhalation through the nose. also go see your local dive shop bout a snorkelling course. may sound silly but you may learn some basic manouvers and new methods of clearing. itl also give you abit more confidence inthe water.

at the polytech last year we actually did a base-line survey on the submerged sea grass bed at slipper island, looking at exactly what is in the grass (found htat it may be critical for kingfish in the area) and also what detrimental affects anchoring is having. i think that if you go get some rocks that have a seaweed alrready growin on it it wi;ll make it eaisier to trans in, and you can remove it easier if it starts to degrade

im considering making a steel and wood stand, i thought brushed steel with a light varnished wood slats along the front and sides would be strong and look mean. dont suppose you could use a waterproof paint or that polyurethane? paint over the steel? that would keep it waterproof right? or other option you could go 18/10 stainless?? :lol:

+ there are restrictions on what cars you can bring in... + vin charges ( if there is a small amount of rust that hasnt been noticed (due to you not being able to see the car really b4 importing) youll fail that) and they rip up everything in the car to check it over... seats etc removed this is information that i have been told,might have changed since?

id say depends what it is... at the moment the system is pretty stringent, it took us 2 and a half years to get our residency, including: 3 sets of thoracic xrays looking for TB, cancers etc 3 full medicals (turn and cough) $ 250 for each family member over 16 every 6 months for just staying in the country, plus study permit or work permits. also renewed every 6 months. it is alot for people to come into NZ already. and we were supposedly "fast tracked" due to my fathers proffession being in demand... :roll:

ok my bad, they are jpg,, but for some reason when i look at properties its saying that it is a gif file? though the file name ends in jpg... o the confusion...

i know i cant see gif photos at polytech, only jpg, and this seems to be the problem here... now, can someone tell me how to fix it?

i was going to go as a red indian, got my mohawk painted blue, yellow and 2 red stripes down the side of my head, then i couldnt find a bow and arrow or any little kids indian set (HEY WHAT THE?!) so i made a beak out of cardboard and went as a parrot of sorts... only later did i realise the blue and yellow were water based and the red was acrylic... i still have red racing stripes... >.<

the old maori trick to catching them was to put a manuka branch, leaves and all into the river in a pool or into the side of a lake, leave overnight then pull it out quickly in the morning... apparently koura are attracted to teh manuka leaves. could be worth a try....
