ii think the same repto
it is about the size of a 6 month old
also seems to tip over backwards in a sort of epileptic fit
worries me that the spine has been affected badly
this 18 mth old beardie was brought in the other day
2 of them rescued by a lady 6 month ago
the one with legs and tail thin as matchsticks succumbed within a week
she has been syringe and habdfeeding this one, but is going overseas so left it with us
the first year of their life was poor lightinng and inadequate food
paralysed right front leg
MBD or mechanical damage and should it be put down?
the quota system covers crayfish, scampi, paddlegrabs etc
nothing specific to freshwater shrimp that i know of
paddlegrabs (yes i know it was deliberate, if you go paddling you will get grabbed)
i have found the finer sand packs down tighter and may decrease the depth you can use that aerobic activity can take place
as to sand grain size and exact depth of sand? it is a piece of string
the bigger the grain size the greater the depth IMO
The top 1-2 inches of the sand bed is the aerobic region and houses two types of bacteria, the first will convert ammonia into nitrite and the second will convert nitrite into nitrate.
both of those will work as well
i cut holes in bottom of enclosure to take a plastic pot
lined pot with fine plastic mesh then potting mix and plant
to replace a plant if it got too big i just replaced pot with another i had been growing
a good post Jennifer a pet shop is not a veterinary hospital, but as they are selling live animals shouldn't there be some responsibilty on their part to provide a easonable standard of advice on the livestock they sell?
welcome ethanyo
a flat stone or peice of wood placed directly under the flow will stop it disturbing the gravel
then you can lower the water slightly until the bubbles stop getting trapped
