  8. this is a multi million dollar hobby in nz would be interesting to know exactly how much tax is gathered from it also exact amount spent annually and people employed in it from lfs workers to courier drivers

  13. yes i like the description hi yellow as well not really a hi yellow in my book only way to stop the smuggling is to is to make sure there are no buyers or make the animal not worth smuggling being able to import legally will stop part of the market smuggling will always happen where there is a good dollar to be gained once the market is there, new colours is where the dollar is yes a small gene pool has a greater chance of producing mutations but as repto says the timeline is pretty short to move down enough generations

  17. it could just be a general mineral deficiency in the tank water 2 x weekly water changes should show a change in the swelling if not then may need to look at other causes i haven't had problems feeding oxheart but i would suggest faeces produced after could be higher in phosphates etc and may be a possible cause of a drop in water quality tanks fed oxheart get more water changes and heavier filtration than others
