Where they come from? all over the world are different forms and specie Where can you buy them from? Not too many shops have Killis as not many shops know much about them and the choose to only hear the lesser things How many types/species/colours are there? Thousands.... and I do mean thousands What they eat? Prefer live foods as a lot of fish do but I feed mine mainly live white worm and frozen blood worm. Others feed flake but as I breed all the time, prefer livies and bloods Ideal tank size? I know of some that keep them in AG jars (overseas). I keep mine in 250 x 250 x 280high and 300 x 300 x 300 tanks. For my spare males, I keep them in 600 (L) x 300 x 300 pH and other water perimeters? They are pretty easy to be honest... I do prefer mine to be kept at 6.5 to 7 though Breeding - ease, where they lay their eggs (I guess they lay eggs?) etc Not too many are hard to breed (gesh, I can breed them so they must be easy) and will breed in mops and peat. In general mop spawners hatch in 10 to 21 days but peat spawners can take up to 26 weeks. Just think, you put in some dirt (boiled peat) and a couple of weeks later remove the peat and dry it. 3 to 6 months down the track you wet the peat and fry arrive 3 to 48 hours later Any other information that's pertinent to them? ask away Pics are always good as TM said, look at the links. Here in NZ we have about 30 specie but at the moment, Im contacting some old breeders to see if they have any old peat around as the eggs can often hatch well over 3 years after they have been laid
  3. you guys should have been pulling eels outs creeks or trying to dam a stream to make a swimming hole or making tree huts or stealing the fruit off the trees in the orchard down the road then running flat out incase the owner saw you with that single orange or apple.
  4. ever since my earliest memories (Captian Pugwash) I have had real problems getting interested in cartoons as they had no reality at all. With movies, you always knew that they were makebelieve but they had that bit of realisim. I still feel the same way and have troublr with the grandkids wanting cartoons Similar to books, I cant (get bored) read a fiction book sad eh
  5. have a look on the DiveHQ web site I was in last week to pick up my tanks after inspection and noticed quite a few in the shop so I would expect them to be on the web site

    nzka

sorry Been away for the weekend I will email you the forms What Killis are you after?
  7. quite frankly, the little hatcheries you buy produce poorly How much do you want and how often? The system I use has BBS ready for me every 12 hours and how much I hatch depends on how many eggs I put in
  8. I fit these things and one of the biggest problems is that the cat can go and see whats on the out side (another cat) and your cat stands so close that the outsider can get in but cant get out Another thing that can happen is that if a outsider cat keeps tapping on the door, they will sometimes open

    heto heaters

what period of garenttee do they have?
  11. I agree with Caryl totally for a short time, no problems at all If it was, maybe we should never transport fish from one tank to another due to the stress?
  12. After having the 2nd glass of a very nice Red Wine, I ask my self why you would want to know the costs? Surely it is dangerous and may put you off wanting more tanks? Would you no be better off just getting more tanks and cursing the power companies for the last power bill? Sometimes its better not to know say he with 47 tanks down the back and thinking of increasing to 100 tanks over all

interesting but I counldnt see any reference to ph? I just had a quick look mind you
  16. Can anyone tell me how much baking soada to put into how many leters to stableise ph
  17. Yes In general scratches are a problem as if you can feel them with your fingers, they are too deep to come out but buffing dose hide them One of the problems I have in these things is that as its my trade, I expect probably a higher degree of prefection. A lot of the time, what I would think of as not suitable, most of the punters would think was good
  18. if you decide to polish, use Jewlers Rouge and a wollen buff and a VERY SLOW grinder or a heat bloom will occure giving rainbow effect. This sometimes show depending on light but if the surface is pitted, you will be grinding for hours and hours. Warren... you were lucky or the film was extremely light
  19. now I know whos been eating my Chocy biscutts At least my Carlton Blond beer stash is still intact There are quite a few things that will hide the problem but the glass is damaged and there fore you must be carefull about storing tanks/glass.

  21. Evils dead rite there I now have a couple more that are worth while that I must add http://www.itrainsfishes.net/content/ Real good for South Americans and may even tempt Evils back into the fold
  22. LOL Ira... my wife makes sure shes nowhere to be seen if Im in a state of disrobe.... I dont blame her
  23. one of the worst thing to leave on glass is water Water contains line and the lime eat into the surface of the glass and distroys it. There are as TM mentioned, acid based product that will help but effectivley the surface is now damaged. In showers after you have installed new glass, buy some polimer (brands include clear shield, force shield, CRL Glass, invisable shield is the one we use and even rainx (for car windscreens). Most of those products will cost around $20 to $30 and will last for many many years. diamond fusion is probably the best but at a cost of $250 plus to do just the shower, in my mind its simply not worth while. I use the above products on all my windows. It makes the glass slipery and the droplets cant hold onto the glass as mush so the residue is reduced. Also ALWAYS USE A SQUEEGE AFTER EVERY SHOWER!!!!!!!!!!
