  1. windows also dont have the same amount (or lack of) silicone on them but they are load bearing and need higher standards to fish tanks belive it or not. Look at the Fay-Richwhite building in Queen St... 40 odd floors with the entire outside cladding being glass and siliconed in.... been there 25 years roughly
  2. Im picking Rhodersil Alan We get the same sort of question with Double Glazed units... they come with a 10 year garentee but dont fall apart at the end of that time... may well last 100 years, we dont know
  3. most silicones are garenteed for 10 years and what that means is that under ideal conditions its fine (UV light is one of the biggest killers) it does not mean that it will break down after 10 years.
  4. in the trade MDF/Partical board is known as weatbix... strong and ridgid when dry but totally no good once its been wet
  5. Stella I have just had my 2nd bussiest ever month so as of yet, we have not been effected but when the largest glass merchant has let go 400 staff nation wide and the 2nd largest has reduced their staff by 33% they is a turn down. I have a good relationship with a pet store here in Auckland and their stock is very slow at the moment. Even the local Chinese Takeaway was telling me that they were down over 20%. Again here in Auckland there have been 4 timber window manufactures close up and some of those have been going for 25 to 30 years. Some are to be honest, not on the ball and charge too much and do not do a good job but the fact that they are no longer around is no good for anyone. Applications for Council building permits are the slowest for 25 years in numbers. The best and it is a good thing is that it will weed out those that do a shoddy job and are overpriced although it also brings out the worst cowboys around. Reputations though will weed them out. Sorry of subject but my advise is still the same... stick with the job you have and enjoy your pets/animals when you get home and that way they dont become another "boring job"
  6. daughter has just made it and says its a messy goo but tastes really nice
  7. Hey this is hard times Animals/pets/fish etc are an extra cost that people are cutting back on. Simple thing is that most people are cutting back and reducing spending in what ever areas that they can. A lot I have spoken to in the building trades have lost up to 40% of their turnover which means reducing staff and those that are left are also slowing down in what they are spending. If you have a retail job and find it boring think of how much more boring not having a job will be. I strongly suggest you stay where you are for anothe 18 months them look at changing jobs. Another thing to think about is will you sitt get enjoyment HAVING to work at what is a hobby I enjoy fishing but to have to to it every day wether I feel like it or not would totally ruin the enjoyment

  20. well done on the breeding Cic Temp is important but to be honest, feeding is probably more important. If you want them to breed, make sure they are really well fed with good tucka. A water change and lowering the temp will often bring them into laying condition Gesh... what have I got right now in fry Aphy. Choc Australe Aphy. Gold Australe Aphy. Striatum P82 F. 21. I love most sports but have real problems in getting interested in soccer. I switched over from the cricket to just see the score and have to say it was one of the most exciting games of any sport I have ever scene.
