  1. Funny enough, Ive seen Dom McLean live 3 times years ago when I was in my teens and early 20's and although thats a sling off I still enjoy both the sling off and the original. There is that exact song that has been put with Van Goughs paintings as a back ground Great to see you have spent time on the net searching to help my argument though
  2. most are not too different in costs from what I can tell I swapped from Genesis to Contact as I was not happy with Genesis but Contact are worst in my mind I have a holliday place at Coromandel and one of the meters has not been work for a while. They have worked out the costs and sent me a estermated account for what they say was used but my records from the year before show a figure 20% less. The amount is not too much and I cant be bothered with continuing the fight so will pay it and move on (flush the dunny and move on) but what now riles me is that they have said Im on the wrong rate so will be adjusting upwards as well They saw Genesis's account and were suppost to be betteringn that From the frypan into the fire As for the dispute, you may find that you wont be able to change until its settled Good luck, I will await your searching with interest
  3. "Anyway, I might try the AHT brand next time.. are they small enough for guppies?" yes, my smaller killis scoff them down I bought about 20 pkts of Aquaones last weekend but also prefer the AHT although I cant taste the difference
  4. he means a diamond bit Speed is the important thing along with water to cool Plenty of speed and plenty of water is best Slow can loosen the diamonds along with heat Ok if your drilling one or 2 holes but the drill bit wont last long The slowest speed we drill at (for large holes ) is 1275 RPM
  5. what Alan was refering to was the storage here
  6. I have 2 daughters that are dental nurses Both say to look around Try contacting a lab that makes them as well as they often have dentists working for them The injections that are used are fine with no discomfort except for having to keep your gob open for so long Do not eat anything or drink anything for a few hours afterwards
  7. No but I do blacklist people that try to undercut and do the dirty on me I wont deal with them at all and as I have too muck work and stick with those that support me, the blacklisted people are the ones that lose in the end
  8. Yes there are now towns that have almost closed down Just think if The Warehouse started in Motueka, even the corner store would be closed Our whole rag trade here in NZ is lost. Is that a good thing or bad? I suppose that if your on the side that has lost their job, its not so good. Im sure that some on here would remember Glengyle Knitware? Quality knitware that lasted many years and was without a doupt some of the finest womens knitware money could buy. They now import all their gear from china. Was a staff of 200, now a staff of 3. Im lucky that this dose not effect me and I sincerly hope that your job is safe KP Me, I stick to quality, service and supporting local industries that employ people like you
  9. Simple thing is KP, you are employed by someone (even if you have your own bussiness, your still hired by NZer) Each time you take away business from a company here you make it less profitable and therefore possibly make them close shop. Whos going to employ you then? There is already an excess of things here making them less profitable. Now I also note that Zayne is selling to people on this forum. I hope that he is declaring this to the IRD and paying his tax as when these shops go under because of saving a dollar and the free market, we are going to need him to pay for the shops staff on unemployment. If you buy 20 pkts of frozen blood worm, you can get it for $4.00 per packet. Now personally, I dont think that the importer and the shops are being unfair. I would hope that when the shops find out who is taking their profits away they simply black list them.... that too is free market That is also why I wont cut down glass people bring into me that they have got from the road side collections. It dosnt feed my family Honestly, think about the whole picture and not your own selfish small time savings. Think about how you would feel if people started treating you this way
  10. hey Zayne We should all do that eh Get rid of all those fish shops... yea, they are all nasty eh Fancy someone making a living and feeding their family We should all import our own fish and heaters and pumps as well eh Yea great idea Maybe when we have a problem with the law we should import our own lawyer as well, cheaper in Uganda And while we are at it, houses are cheaper in Alaska so we should also import those as well Mind you, there may not be too many people employed at that stage... hope you have enough money in the bank for the next 60 years Sorry to poke fun at you but by all means if you want to see the end of shops here, simply dont support them but when you need new fish or something else, dont come crying!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. send me a photo of the rubber as there are different types and each needs a different tool Im picking its called claytonrite and if so, you will need and infill tool and me to tell you by phone how its done
  12. most fish look at anything that fits in their mouth as dinner I must get some more of those but need more space first
  13. its hard for me to understand but why would you cross different types? I can only compare it to crossing different types of Killi (different Gardneri of Nigerianus) serious question and Im certianly not having a go, just interested
  14. had about an hour and a half yesterday but only a very brief light shower here today. Just got home from playing bowls with my daughter. Couldnt stay too long as we had dressed in sweat shirts rather than tee shirts

    Glass Cutting

To cut curves dont drag the cutter, push it and keep your shoulder over the cutter. Dont use a straight edge of course I would also not recommend it until you have successfully cut straight lines a few times.
  16. Ive sent it to Caryl as I havnt got your email Mark
  17. if you cant find it let me know and I will see what I can do I did one for the mag a while ago
  18. some at 12 and 13 have babys. Are you honestly suggesting that this is a good thing? Im picking that you are younger as when you are a bit older you will see how much these kids miss out on and how they have made their life very hard before they have even started to live life.
  19. its not about what you know, its more about if your parents want you to have them Several things come into it like finance, life style (your parents may be wanting to travel for months at a time over seas), room, dampness to your home as well as experiance and Im sure plenty of other things. My 18yo daughter wants (and is getting) a turtle. We go to Coromandel at Christmas for 3 weeks. She normally sleeps in a tent down there. Where am I going to fit the turtle in as my bach is 2 bedroom and my older two daughters are married with children so there simply wont be enough room. Im sure that you young ones will look after the fish but you can see a lot of other things are an important part of the decision. Young people wont have thought of a lot of these things which is why your parents need to be informed and agreeable. The example of my daughter is a good example. She wont be able to take the turtle away and will either have to come back to feed and care for it or she wont be able to come on holliday with us Hopefully, those of you that dont like needing permission will understand a little more as to why I applaud the pet shops stand
  20. I agree firearms and drivers license's are dished out at a far to young age Pet stores have more sence that government regulations
  21. for those that dont like the idea of an age restriction. Just think if there was a lion for sale at the shop and your 16yo brother wanted it without needing the OK from mum or dad Your brother gets sick of feeding it and cleaning up the mess............................... Almost every parent has ended up adopting one of their kids pets that they promised they would always look after and they would love it for always.... Its all they've ever wanted since they were like 5 years old
